Esteemed greetings great leaders, we are leaders because we we all introduce someone to steemit and it is our responsibility to help them grow.
Lets discuss about some reasons why newbies back out. Remember unless we know the root cause, treatment will be symptomatic.

the lost sheep

Have you ever introduced someone and the person backed out? . How did you feel?, what was the person's reason(s) for backing out?, did you tried bringing them back or you gave up too soon on them
Have you also brought in a newbie that excels more than you?? A newbie that encourages you to work even harder??. I hope @b-naj will tell us his experience on this.

Amazing write up. You've said all the truth here. We got to being them back. But most people are just lazy and it's quite exhausting trying to convince a person who have made up their minds.

Yes you are right especially that Steemit platform is not like others without an appropriate mentoring you can abandone, I had a similar situation like yours but thanks to my mentors I could do it.
Let us start by calling each and everyone who has abandoned steemit privately in life in case we personally know them to retake back their activities.
Secondly before introducing a newbie let us tell him all the realities and hard work that it needs so that he should not be surprised.

From those few feedback amongst others we realized already that steemians arent happy when newbies back out and they also stated that its exhausting trying to bring them back.
The third person gave a point why newbies easily back out but the 1 speaker insisted on the fact of bringing them since cryptocurrency is the future.
So what then is the reason why newbies back out?. Lets find out.

5 REASONS WHY NEWBIES BACK OUT OF STEEMIT

• steemit is not a ponzi scheme
  Most newbie or individual especially Cameroonians thinks that when it comes to make money online, everything can be doubled over night.
  To make matter worse, since they here that steemit is part of Cryptocurrency, they like when you just post, cryto money will just locate you in no time.
  Thus when they get on board, that's not whats happening so they feel discouraged.

• Lack of information
  Extrapolating to our scenario, Cameroonian hardly seek for information. There is a saying that if you keep money in a book, it will be saved because nobody will touch it. That's the problem we faced here, most recruits dont sought for extra information, or to read more on what they werr introduced. This pushes them to keep on asking questions and if replies aren't given on time, they feel frustrated.

• IMPATIENCE and INCONSISTENCIES : steemit is not a get rich quick scheme kind of platform. This ties with the first point. When they dont see the money, they become impatient to wait. Also at the preliminary stage when curation is scares, they dont receive much upvotes or gets posts that got expired without curation, they stopped posting and became inconsistent but still complaint about others getting votes.

• Poor orientation from mentors
  On steemit, steemians dont indirectly benefit from referrals but they do benefit indirectly.
  I say indirectly because, those newbies that are brought in helps to grow our community and when they grow they too can start delegating to the community which everyone can benefit from it.
  What is the reason why you promote steemit?, is it just to win contests? Because at times you see how confuse some newbies are. The dont know or understand anything. Some where just registered and their keys given to them and all they were told is to post and end. In as much as it is not easy to mentor someone, its very important not to give half information because this in more dangerous.

• lack of motivation
  As @disconnect mentioned "you should always be your self motivation". Most people just get into steemit because the see others doing so. This makes it very difficult to gain inspiration in what to post and coupled with some reason as mentioned above, they backout.
