In my country Nigeria, every year, children's day is celebrated on the 27th of May. On this very day, awareness is being raised about the importance of raising children, and their rights in the society. This day reminds us that these children are our leaders of tomorrow, and they are meant to be treated with respect love and dignity. Children organizations often use this day as a day to address certain child issues like child abuse, child's needs and child labor. This day is always filled with joy and celebration. It's marked with march pas, sporting and fun activities, speech and refreshments.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development here in Nigeria, is the primary promoter of National Children's Day. Active promoters such as child-aid organizations and non-governmental organizations, also plays a role in the national children's day awareness.
Through my personal opinion, there are a few things that could be done by these organizations to increase the impact of National Children's Day in my country.

  • More opportunities and adequate funding for children to participate in fun activities and celebrations.
  • More funding and support for children media tv programs and channels
  • Parents also plays crucial role, by also participating in the children's day activities.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the National Children's Day in my country Nigeria, is an important day for children, which aids in raising awareness about their rights and needs. It is an opportunity to address their needs and challenges they are being faced with, and to also celebrate their achievements. I am positive, that as we the adults, continues to support and nurture them, we can create a better and safer future for them.
