Steem Cameroon Contest- International Day for Biological Diversity [Philippines]

Biological is a kind of things that contains life just like animals, trees, plants and other biological lives. It is very important to take care and save this things so that it can maintain the cleanliness and have a healthy surroundings. Our World celebrated this kind of activities and it includes our country, The Philippines. This is a very kind of important so that people especially the new Generation will know about the importance of our biological place and they will know how to take care of it.

What do you know about the day?

24th of May, 2023 when our country decided to celebrate biological diversity day. The Department of Agriculture and the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources team conducted a short meeting about the said celebration. In this way, we can learn, and know how to take care of our environment so that it will maintain the healthy and relaxing place on where we lived. It includes about planting of trees, cleaning the coastal areas, saving lives of animals and brought to the animal shelter and learn how to recycle and use organic fertilizer for the plants.

This can help the place for keeping avoided of to much synthetic fertilizer and have a healthy surroundings. Recycling is also a good form of act we should adopted it is because we can keep the surroundings clean and no massive of garbages in the Garbage area.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrated the day?

Our Local Government conducted a tree planting and cleaning of coastal areas for a day. Every Government employees and residents are invited to join the activities. This can help maintaining the cleanliness and organized the place. Also, by planting more trees this can help by maintaining the freshness and coolness of the place. This is a kind of activities that should always do, so that the residents will know how important of caring our surroundings and what are the good benefits we can get if we achieved this activity.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration?

There are lots of gain we achieved after and during the commemoration, some of this are the cleanliness of the place. If the place is very clean, there will be a lot of fascinating and beautiful views. People or visitors will love to visits the place and they will appreciate how clean the area is. Next, our town will have a cool place because of the trees planted in the areas.

The residents will also gain some important lessons and learnings about the importance of take care of the surroundings.

What issue or common concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and what date?

This is very good questions and I really want to answer this to voice out my observations and hope to be commemorated. My concern is recycling day and garbage awareness day and the date must be on June 1. This kind of activities can help other people to know how to recycle things and not thrown out to the garbage areas. There are lots of news today about massive of garbage dumps in the place were many flies and other kinds of harmful insects flying around. It must be stop by always throwing garbages that is why, in my own point of view, it must have a Garbage awareness day.
