Body shaming is the act of making negative comments regarding someone’s weight or size. For a very long time, a lot of individuals have been victims of what is called "BODY SHAMING". The commentary associated can be about a person's size, their skin colour, the type of clothe worn, food etc

As a child or as a lady, I have heard people say to me, “you look perfect". I was also been considered “fat” to some then when I made an attempt to slim down, they call me "thin" making it seem like I'm suffering. I literally stopped listening to everyone and just focused on the kind of body suitable for me and not them. As long as I am happy with my body, nobody has the right to comment on it.

A society that is full of bullies. Bullies of all different ages and backgrounds. Stop being mean to people. Stop bullying people. Leave negative comments out. Instead focus on yourself as a person and how to better it. Let people be comfortable in their own skin and their own body, after all it’s theirs and nothing to do with you! It doesn’t affect your life or your body shape in any way. All the negative comments could have a huge effect on their mental health, self esteem and self worth. It could have a major effect on THEIR life. You really don’t know what damage you’re causing to one's life.

My candid advise to the perpetrators is to be a generally nice person and leave others alone. Focus on improving yourself, focus on your own self-esteem, your own self-worth, your own body confidence, and focus on your own life. If you actually can't say anything nice then please remain mute.

And to the victims, please accept who you are; there is no greater power than that. Embrace yourself, flaws and imperfections so you will discover an unshakeable sense of self. Know that each and every one of you is beautiful, unique, sovereign, and an expression of the universe in your own right.
