GREEN DEEDS : SIGNS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN BAMENDA

Hi steemians! hope we all are doing well. Am @paddykam and I will be writing on the signs of climate change in Bamenda.

Climate change has become a serious concern globally. Climate is the atmospheric condition of a place over a period of time. It varies from place to place. And this depends to an extent on the changes in the weather elements. Most of the regions in cameroon differ as far as climate change is concerned. This is due to the differences in their environmental factors. For example some region are mountainous, some are low lands while others are made up of more forests than others.
In most cases the population size and the level of development equally plays a major role in climate change.

Am in Bamenda and would be writing on how climate has changed in this part of the region. The population of Bamenda town has grown in recent years especially during the advent of the socioeconomic crises. The increase in population has caused the region to witness a change in its climate. Temperatures used to be normal around December and January. For the past years during these months the temperature is very high and unbearable resulting to a serious of health issues.

The growth in population has resulted to scarcity of land for development. There has been an increase in the construction of houses. This makes it difficult for run off from rain to sink into the ground and thus floading.
Rainfall on the other hand doesn't have a specific time that it comes. It used to come around the 15th of March every year but of recent it's been fluctuating and farmers don't find it funny.
