The importance of photography

I met a Dutch trained female photographer who made up time to show me around the art of photography in a canon camera.

Today I like to share on the importance of photography. Everyday of our lives we take pictures. Each person who has an Android phone with a camera in it, has become a photographer. We can take pictures of anything or anyone at any time and post or keep them. Yes people keep taking photographs . Why is it important to always have pictures?

Let us begin by looking at the definition of photography.

Photography is the art of capturing light with a camera, usually via a digital sensor or film, to create an image.

A lot of people take pictures because of the importance they attached to keeping images. Many events and activities would go unknown unless some people captured some moments during the events on pictures. They will soon be forgotten if there are no pictures.Photography is therefore very important as seen in some of the examples below.

Photography can be more of fun as well as learning experience too. Photography can help to keep evidence of something that would be lost if words alone cannot explain it. Photography helps to bring out the clearer picture of the real thing. It can inspire the photographer to travel from one area of the world to another . For instance most history books carry information and pictures that were captured in the past thanks to photography. Were some of those pictures not there, some of the stories that history leaves to tell would be meaningless.

I was listening to my friend who was sharing her experiences in using the camera with some students. I watched her with keen attention while asking questions about photography too

Photography is such a wonderful experience. It makes one feel happy especially after looking at the beauty in the pictures that we capture in our everyday life. Going about and snapping pictures make some people very fulfilled in life. The art of photography drives away depression, stress and sadness. Sometimes, there are things that cannot be seen well through the physical eye but will be seen better through the lens of a camera in a photo. Photography helps to give us more experience on exposure to different images. Lastly, photography is a way of passing a message in pictures that may not necessarily be accompanied by words.
