Life Hack!
Greetings from the homeland Bamenda, Cameroon to you fellow Steemians all over the globe.
In our world today, it's easy to get busy building and end up building nothing over a long period. Like Denzel Washington says, "the fact that you are doing a lot more doesn't mean that you're getting a lot more done." In other words, there's a difference between movement and progress. This emphasizes the importance of effective time management.
A business person would say time is money, but I think time is much more valuable than money. You can lose money and still get it back, but you can't lose time and get it back. Personally, I've never seen someone turn 20 years old and then, due to hard work, go back to being 19.
A prioritization matrix is a time management tool that serves as a decision-making tool for greater productivity. This matrix works based on two major considerations: urgency and importance.
Here's how it works: Picture a quadrant or a square with four equal boxes divided by a vertical line and a horizontal line intersecting in the center.
Label the top left of the square on the horizontal axis as "Urgency" and the top right as "Importance."
On the vertical side, label the top part of the quadrant as "High Importance" and the lower part of the vertical axis as "Low Importance."
In the first box on the top left of the square, you place highly important and urgent tasks from your to-do list. These are the tasks that should be done first.
On the top right of the square, you place tasks that are of high importance but not so urgent. These can be scheduled for later.
On the bottom left of the square is the place for not important but urgent tasks. These are tasks you can delegate for someone else to do, or do yourself if they're not too time-consuming.
On the last box of the square, you place the least important and least urgent tasks. These tasks can be eliminated entirely or kept for casual time later.
This prioritization matrix is a wonderful time management tool that would be beneficial to us all if we learned it and used it for planning to achieve our goals. Remember, you can adapt this matrix based on your considerations, so don't be limited to just urgency and importance.
I hope this helps you make your time management more effective.
Cheers!!✌️
