#3 - Steem Cameroon Contest : National or International awareness day Contest (01st Aug - 06th Aug 2022)
Hello fellow Steemians,I hope we all doing good today. Alhamdulillah. I am very pleased to take part in this contest. I want to use this opportunity to thank @steemcameroon community and the organizers of the contest for putting up a wonderful contest week-in week-out.
Our forefathers gave us an unforgettable legacy that we should celebrate anytime.Their mission was to lead us to the freedom that we are enjoying today. Yesterday was 4th August which we the citizens of Ghana use to celebrate or remember the legacy they have left for us. Our founders were six in number but the one who led them was Dr Osajifo Kwame Nkurumah and others were J.B Danquah,Ofori Atta,E A Addo,Obitsebi Lamptey and E.A Adjei. They are been named as the big six.We use this day to remember work and sacrifice they preserve for us. The unforgettable memories and hard works of our forefathers need to be remember which we are doing. I want to use this opportunity to tell the good people from @steemit and people around the world that,we use this day as a holiday in Ghana,so on every 4th of August every year,no public worker goes to work on that day,it is set aside to remember the great things our forefathers did for us.

Regarding to the way it is celebrated, on 4th of August each,the workers in country is giving the chance to rest and to remember our forefathers legacy that they left for us. The president of our mother Ghana will give us some speech about our founders. Some media houses also go round asking citizens about this great day. We use our social media handles to celebrate to post the pictures of the big six.
The impact of this celebration or remembering is that,we want to keep the legacy of our forefathers. Some of us grew up to .wet this celebration,and they told us about it and so we are also going to teach the next generation about it. We think that their legacy from the fight of freedom they got for is should always wake us up whenever we are to misuse this freedom.
What I want to add is that,the history of our great people should not let to be die off,we need to remember the great people or our forefathers who uses their blood in fighting for the betterment of today. There are great leaders that should keep their legacy for the next generations to know which people fought or founded the nation's that they are living in.

Happy founder's day in arias. It is indeed a day to be celebrated. We grew up studying African history and hearing these names of the big six as some African heroes. So from Cameroon, I say may your legacies stay preserved😊
