Some popular cattle breeds in the world

There are more than 70 beef cattle in the world, so to be able to have the whole list will require a lot of digging and research. I will be pointing out five breeds of cattle. The different breeds are not easy to differentiate, so I will share the names and images of some breeds.

Black Angus (The most common)

Black Angus originated from the northing part of Scotland, it is mostly seen as the oldest breed in the United Kingdom. Black Angus are muscular animals and are used for crossbreeding to improve the quality of milk. Black Angus is all body color black cattle.

Hereford

Hereford is descended from small red cattle of Roman Britain and large Welsh breeds from England and Wales.

Simmental

Simmental originated from Europe and is a crossbreed of two cattle, a large German cattle, and a small indigenous Switzerland breed. The name came from Simme Valley (Switzerland) where the first breed experimented. Simmental is the color from gold to red and white. They usually have the head color white and a band over the shoulders.

Red Angus

Red Angus originated from Europe before the move to the USA and other parts. Red Angus is characterized by the red color, and the female reaches puberty at a young age. Red Angus produces excellent quality meat.

Holstein (dairy cattle)

Holstein originated from the Netherlands and moved to us in 1852. A mature Holstein cow will weigh about 1.500 pounds and is 58 inches tall. Holstein is the highest producer of milk, making them top among other dairy cows.
