CLIMATE CHANGE
This is a phenomenon characterised by significant changes in the climatic condition of a region or a country.
Climate:
this is the physical condition of an area over a long period of time. The conditions include: Temperature, atmospheric pressure etc
In the past years there has been a drastic increase in the temperature of Buea and prolonged dry seasons.
According to EruDef, this increase in temperature is due to increase deforestation.
Deforestation:
2.In the year 2020 on march 24th to be specific, the city of Buea witnessed a flood and excessive mud flow. It had poured so heavily on that faithful day and the water ways couldn't contain the overflow. This caused water to flood certain areas such as the Buea town neighbourhood and bonduma, carrying away people's property. The flood had destroyed the regional hospital junction, the culvert below the second district central police and the GCE board entrance.
This flood was said to be due to too much erosion during the prolonged dry seasons and vapour accumulated in the hydrosphere.

3.Water: Apart from all the environmental hazards caused by climate change in the southwest region, there has been water scarcity in the city of Buea, the increased population doesn't have enough water to meet it's needs. Hundreds of people visit the catchment center and streams on a daily basis just to get water.

The once cold and rich city of Buea has experienced drastic changes due to climate change. But I pray by the efforts of EruDef officials (Operation plant 600 trees on the forest area) everything will slowly change for the better.
Beautiful explanation and illustration @metugejacy20. This climate change is a serious issue. Each time i travel to Yaounde or Douala , and see trucks carrying Timber from our forests , i feel like dying. Only if they know the impact in 20years to come.

Reading this post made me remember my primary school days, with your simple and easy to comprehend definitions.
But beyond that is the issue of deforestation 🤦🏾♂️ i just hate that one so bad if there could be wma way to stop it all at once i would've been a happy man

Thanks for sharing @metugejacy and am impressed when we are noticing these things, knowing the cause, it's possible that solutions will come. This climate is becoming a serious problem and if we are not careful it will be dangerous. The question now is What are we going to do that will solve it so that even a layman will do or follow

Water scarcity, flooding and temperature extremes are real. A lot has changed over the past 10 years as a result of the changing climate but its not too late for us to take action to remedy the situation.
