My Short Movie Script: Horror ( A Visit To A Local Temple)

A heartily greetings to all the wonderful Steemians over here, how have you all been doing?. So this week's movie contest is a bit challenging but as usual, we will always give our best, I will start by dropping a piece of my own plot here and I would borrow your attention for some time.

To me, a temple is where different rites are being done. It also entails a building designed just for the purpose religious rites and everyother religious activities takes place.

Also, temple is seen by religious people to be a place where sacred things are being kept, this is the place where religious people go to worship their respective Gods and pay tributes otherwise called offering to.

• Agnes: ( A married woman of late 40s desperate of having a child)

• Mabel: (Agnes's best friend)

• Thondo: (Temple Attendant)

The night was paving way for the morning to spring forth and it was as if the time was held down, everything seemed so slow to Agnes who has been barren for over a decade and 5 years and marriage. She has been seated outside thinking of how she would be thrown out of her matrimonial home because of her inability to bear a child.

The birds were chirping giving echoes of the morning melodies, just then, Mabel who she has been expecting drove into the compound just as she had promised the previous day so they could visit a local temple to know what really was wrong with Agnes who has been examined by medical professionals time without number and yet still conclude she is okay medically.

They left their house and set out for the journey using Agnes's SUV, the journey was going to be a little bit long, so they were fully prepared and aware of what they were about to do. Before they left, Agnes checked the trunk to confirm if the items they were asked to bring was complete but was rushed by Mabel as time was running out.

The journey was a tiring one as they both had to journey through the city down to an interior part of the state. Mabel was already getting tired after 3 hours ride and asked Agnes to take over the wheel.

They journeyed through the lonely paths leading to the temple, it was so lonely that just the chirpings of birth could be heard. Agnes was getting scared as of how on earth someone would decide to build a temple in such a lonely environment but she never had a choice as she needed a baby so bad.

Mabel pointed at a cabin from afar to signal Agnes that they are almost there after 4 hours drive. She was relieved, atleast, she has seen where the answer to he problems lies.

Finally, they were at the temple, but there seemed to be no sign of a living soul, just some dead animals skeletons hanging round the temple, the advanced to check in when they suddenly heard a voice that asked them to pull off their shoes and enter.

Immediately, they did that, they were asked to sit on the mat facing the Thondo, a very fearful looking Temple Attendant who has devoted his life serving as the eyes of the God's. He stretched forth his hands and asked them for the items, Agnes reaches to it and Thondo pointed his hand right to where an ugly looking masquerade was, she dropped it there and within some seconds, a thunder struck the bag containing the item and it was torn into pieces.

Immediately, Thondo got up looking very angry, he shouted at the top of his voice "Where is the baby powder!!!!", Agnes looked through the bag again this time being terrified and realized she had the thought of buying it on their way as it was the only item left for the rite but she forgot since she was in a hurry.

Just as she was about to say a word, a voice thundered and Thondo looked pitifully at Agnes and told her unless a sacrifice of a bull and horse is made to appease the Gods for bringing an incomplete items for rites, she will remain dumb, immediately, Agnes' mouth was closed and she was unable to talk.

Thondo ordered them out and asked them to return in the next 5 market days with new items and the bull and horse. Agnes shedded tears and Mabel was pleading if anything could be done to remedy it before then but Thondo left them outside and headed back to his temple. They were left to face their fate.
