The Dairy Game : The D-day - My Father's Burial Memorial Service // 23-02-2024

Good day my steemit friends, how are you and did your day go? I trust it was a pleasant one and a productive day?, for me, I'm still having a self break from work after all stress I passed through during my father's burial memorial service. But now, I'm glad that it has ended and that everything went successfully. Let me share with you all how that day went.

It was in Friday the 23th of February, 2024 that we did our Father's burial memorial service. Traditionally, according to our custom, it was on this day that I truly and finally buried my father haven on this day fulfilled all the burial rights according to our tradition which I was not able to do when he died because I was still very little.

When I woke up that morning, after our family morning devotion, I came out and brushed my teeth, after which I grabbed the leftover food we had and ate as I was very hungry that morning and the task for the day was much. After eaten, I carried grinder and started grinding pepper and other things that will be use for cooking.

When I was done grinding everything, I rushed to the town to get some drinks. I bought several crates of drinks including soft drinks and beer of different brands. Thereafter I looked for a motorcycle to convey the drinks home.

I kept using the motorcycle to convey the drinks home until I carried all them home. By this time, the community men and other men from the neighboring village has started arriving our compound. Finally, all the cookings and every other arrangement was done and we all sat as the event commenced.

I must say " it was a really great event" as we had a very peaceful atmosphere and everything was going well. Soon after I had presented all the burial requirements to the elders and all the traditional rights was performed, I was called out first to dance for my late father as our tradition demands, thereafter the rest of my siblings joined me.

It was a very long dance session as it was the last thing on the order of service, nothing again on the list to do so we continued dancing and dancing until the whole place was dark.

Oh my God... All I can say is that it was successful occasion and am so glad that everything has been fulfilled and all demands met traditionally as required for my late father's burial.
