Hey guys......... what's up?
I'm glad to be around again with more juicy contents for you all. Like I said in my last post, today's post is away from hybrids and all the science stuff so for all those scientists, let's just do some reading today.

Today I'm bringing you Africa's Big Five. I'm sure some of y'all may have heard of the term before or not, some may already know what it is or not. Nevertheless, let's ride on.

This term Africa's Big Five is a term that was formulated by big game hunters in Africa to refer to the top most difficult animals to be hunted on foot. They are, the Elephant, the Buffalo, the Rhino, the Lion and the Leopard. Of course some people have argued that this term actually is used because of the sizes of these animals but however, they are still very difficult animals to be hunted. This term is still widely used by safari tourists.

Shall we look at them a little?? 🤔 Of course.😉

Being one of the two living African elephants, this big guy is the largest land animal on the planet. This herbivore can be found in over 37 countries across the continent. Adults can grow up to about 4meters in height and they either live alone or in small groups. They also sometimes live with other herbivores like the bison.

This herbivore mammal is often regarded to as the most dangerous animal on the continent. It has very strong horns with a broad base forming a protective shield on its head. It is also very fierce and fears no one. Not even the king. This guy can be spotted mostly around Eastern and Southern Africa.

The Black Rhinoceros.

Possessing a wonderfully thick layer of skin, this big guy is very difficult to hunt. It is native to Eastern and Southern Africa as well and is also very dangerous. It has a long horn atop its nasal bridge which it makes very much good use of when confronted with a fight.

The Lion.

This apex predator is native to Africa and is also alive in parts of Asia and Europe. It is a big cat living in Savannahs. This cat is a social animal living in prides and usually hunting together. The animal is very fierce and dangerous and will try to hunt almost everything alive. It is even know to try its luck bringing down the Elephant. Males are usually larger than females and have a mane around the neck and shoulders.

The Leopard.

This big cat is one of the most weird when it comes to habitat, living in trees. This cat relatively has shorter legs and a longer body. It has a beautifully spotted fur similar in appearance to the Jaguar. It has an incredible strength. It can carry prey more than it's body weight up very tall trees to avoid it being stolen by scavengers.

Knowing about animals and nature in general has always been a passion for me. Theres actually a lot to be learnt from nature that applies to how humans can better live, relate and suceed in their own communities. Thanks for enlightening us on the big fives

You are very correct on that. There's a lot to be learnt in the animal kingdom.

Thanks for your comment.

I remember watching a wildlife documentary some time ago. I was shocked when I heard that the Buffalo has killed more Lions than any other animal.... It certainly deserves its spot amongst Africa's Big 5

Of course... the buffalo holds the record of the animal with the most Lion kills. It has killed more lions than even humans.

😅😅 The title of "King of the Jungle" has nothing to do with size. Well I think I'll do a post on that too.
