Today I'm writing about some of the rarest animals hybrid you may never come across in your lifetime.😅 Yes! You reading this post.

INTRODUCTION

A hybrid is an animal which is genetically made up of two different genes. It can be a 50/50 split or one gene may dominate. The idea of hybrids is as a result of scientists trying to play God by trying to create new animal species. They cross breed different animals to come out with a unique animal possessing characteristics of both its parents. However, this process can only be possible with two animals which are almost related. Of course you can't cross breed a dog and a shark.🤪 That'll be crazy.

So I'll give y'all 5 of these animals today as we see below:

• THE ZONKEY.

Probably the most famous hybrid animal, I'm sure you can already tell it's parents from the name. The ZONKEY is the child of a Zebra and a Donkey. This is one very beautiful animal with clear characteristics of both of its parents. Some people have proposed that it should be called the ZEEDONK.🤔 What do you think?

• THE SAVANNAH CAT.

This is one cute and adorable little hybrid. It is the offspring of a big African wild cat and a domestic cat. It was first created around 1986. It has attributes of both parents as it sometimes likes to keep to itself and at times, it wants to be played with. You must be wondering where the name came from?? The first kitten to be born as this hybrid was named Savannah. There you go.

• THE WHOLPHIN.

Yes! you got it right. This rare hybrid is from a whale and a dolphin. You might never see this one as it has never been reportedly seen outside captivity though some people claim to have seen this unique animal in the oceans but there's no proof of those claims. It is the rarest hybrid with characteristics of it's Killer whale daddy and its button nose dolphin mummy.

• THE BEEFALO.

Not what you're thinking.😅 It's not a buffalo with cow meat. This is a hybrid of an American bison and a regular cow. This hybrid was actually created accidentally in the 18th century but is now produced purposely for the production of beef. It has more of cow gene and its meat is considered better than regular cow 🐄 meat.

• THE COYDOG.

Sounds kind of playful right? This is the hybrid of a Dog and a Coyote; two very similar animals. This hybrid has been existing for thousands of years and is highly possessive of both of its ancestral genes. It is a very friendly and loyal animal like its dog half but can be very fierce and dangerous on its coyote half.
I think we generally call this guy the German Shepherd. 🤔
