... AND IT RAINED AGAIN, LET'S FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE.
... And it rained again after a long while.
Good day beautiful steemians. I'm super happy this day because it rained in my area after a long period of dryness.
Growing up, I've always been told and I've always known the months of June to the early moments of October to be the raining season in cameroon. But this tendency is gradually changing as a result of climate change with extreme weather conditions.
I witnessed rainfall this year at the beginning of June though not consistent and then no rain throughout the month of July and this early August not until today where it poured out heavily.
One thing that has led to this seasonal fluctuation is the change in clamate which is caused by a variety of factors which are mostly man made.
I followed up a program yesterday 9th of August on France 24 which was talking about the recent changes in climate. It so much drawed my attention as I could relate to what is actually happening now. That made me to understand that it is not only affecting my area but it is a global issue affecting all the parts of the earth. According to this report, the number one cause of climate change in the world is due to the emissions of fossil fuel (petrol, carbon and gasses) in the atmosphere which is being produced by large enterprises and automobiles. The emission of these fossil fuel lead to global warming. India and China are known to be the highest producers of this gasses. The advanced industrialized countries consume a larger quantity of this energy.
Once this gasses go into the atmosphere, they destroy the ozone layers and consequently produce its effects on the climate.
It is therefore advisable for each countries to change from the consumption of this fossil energy to that of renewable energies.
Several other causes are behind the changes in our climate such as deforestation, farm burning, use of chemical fertilizers.
No one individual can hide behind the fact that they weren't aware of the other alternative sources of renewable energy and thus radical decisions must be taken in other to protect our climate.
It is often said that a single hand cannot tie a bundle. So each and every one of us must participate in reducing the consumption of these fossil energy sources and turn to the consumption renewable energy sources.
The climate change has really let to no rain falling. For people living at my area we have not had rain for a very long period of time, it drizzle but it does not fall
