I thank the organizers of this wonderful contest and the moderators of this community for giving me an opportunity to share my content here. My today’s post and theme for the week is all about respect.

What do you understand by Respect. Define in your own words

Respect means accepting somebody for who they are even if they are different from you in any way or they do disagree with you or you do not agree with them. It is something that holds our relationships together.

Respect is something that doesn’t come naturally, it is something we learn. We been respected by important people in our daily lives growing up has taught us how to be respectful towards others.

Receiving respect from people is important because it helps us as individuals feel safe, to be able to express ourselves and most important it can help make the world a better place.

WHAT RESPECT LOOKS LIKE

Let’s think about all the situations where we have to deal with different people in life, how do we know if there is respect between us.

•We always feel safe around each other.

•We feel ok to be able to express ourselves.

•When we disagree, we listen to each other and always be patient.

•We don’t yell or talk over each other.

Have you ever been in a disrespectful situation before?

Life comes with a lot of ups and downs and with this there are situations when you’ll have to need help from someone else. There have been situations when I have been in disrespect situations.

I quite remember when I was not well and had to visit the hospital with my mom. I was seriously sick and before I was admitted in the hospital, the level of disrespect showed to me and my mom by one of the nurses was very bad. The manner in which she spoke my mom was never the right thing to do and also I’m someone who doesn’t like injections hahaha. So due to how I was behaving, I was been shouted on and some mean words were said to me which I was not happy with.

It was the nurse’s job to do the right thing and help treat people and that also means respect to me showed to every patient. Therefore she had no right to treat my mom the way she did by shouting at her and also saying meaning words to me just because she is older.

In not less than 200 words, write a poem about respect.

Respect can be shown by doing little things. We can all see the value in the solace it brings. Giving it is something no one but you can choose. What disrupts the general flow is something many refer to as pride Individuals fail to remember that others have sentiments.Being impolite and heartless in their dealings. Picking tattle over correspondence. Harming others with their creation. The harassing that we find in schools.

In adulthood, makes us seem to be fools. This isn't the manner in which things ought to be Rather we can pick civility. Our disparities need not prompt shouting. The manner in which we handle ourselves is very telling. Do we have the stuff to put others first?Or on the other hand, would we say we are about to extinguish our own thirst?A hunger for having things our own particular manner. Can forestall making another person's day
Ought to regard be given just when it's merited?
Or on the other hand, would it be advisable for us to zero in on the harmony saved?

CONCLUSION

Sometimes we find ourselves been or feeling respected by others, this maybe include our friends, family and strangers from different places. Since it is not possible to change someone and to make them respect you, these are some of the things we can do;

•We show them what respect looks like by respecting ourselves.

•Give the person a chance to change he or she behavior.

•Spend time with people that are respectful and that can make you safe.

•Tell them specially what they are doing is not ok.
