Our brains alter when we fall in love causing us to feel joyful ecstatic a& connected to our spouse. Dopamine oxytocin & serotonin are the 3 prolly chemicals or factors that are primarily responsible for these changes or alteration. The rush of pleasure we experience when we are with our lover is caused by dopamine, whilst oxytocin fosters feelings of bonding and togetherness. Serotonin aids in mood regulation and emotional stability.
Why, therefore, do we experience this when we are in love? According to one idea, love developed as a survival mechanism. Coz we are social beings humans have been able to survive & succeed or able to live as a species because of our capacity to create close relationships with others. It's possible that love emerged as a means to motivate us to make tight, lasting bonds with others, which in turn aids us in creating robust social networks and defending ourselves from harm.
