Hello to all my Cameroonian brethren and my lovely Steemians across the globe. I am pleased to have you here, just as I am happy to present this post, which is about International You Day, as today is August 12, 2023, which is the day that is set aside to celebrate youths across the world. Indeed, we are the leaders of tomorrow, and for that, we need to be celebrated.

Today, August 12, 2023, is International Youth Day. It is the day that is set aside to celebrate and create awareness about youth across the world. In the case of Nigeria, people see it as a day when more awareness is raised on the challenges youth are facing in the country and opportunities are discussed, just like in the speech given by the Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, where he said that Nigerian youths aren't alone and that his government is besides youth.
However, it was the United Nations that first initiated this day, which we are celebrating today, on August 12, 2023. To conclude my points, it is the day when countries address youths by giving them hope and so on.

In my country, Nigeria, International Youth Day is celebrated by organizing different activities that can bring youths together. However, the key activity of the day is empowerment, to motivate youths and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
Workshops are organized in local communities, whereas in cities, conferences, sports activities, and other cultural activities are held to promote youth initiative and encourage peace. However, today when we are in a social world most youths and parent use their social media pages such as Xsocial, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc amplify the voice of Nigerian youths.
What impact does your community have during and after the commemoration? (50-100 words) |

Well, during International Youth Day, my country, Nigeria, gained peace, love, and unity across the country. Youths come to one Understanding and one voice during and after the day. Those in leadership make good promises to youth, which can be fulfilled as time goes on. Also, the day is a world day that brings joy to youth.
What issue or concern will you recommend be commemorated this week, and on what date? |

The issue that I will like to be commemorated this week on the day of International Youth Day is the issue of unemployment in the country. Many youths are roaming around the streets of Nigeria looking for jobs, and due to the high rate of unemployment in the country, youths are found doing illegal things to survive.

We, as youth, are indeed the future of the nation.
I understand that in your country, the problem of unemployment is still a major topic of conversation for youth issues. same as in my country.
However, I'm sure that as creative youth, we can create a platform for us to work creatively in the future and create employment opportunities for other youth.
