Greetings to all my amazing fellow steemians in the house. Its yet again another great opportunity and privilege to relate with you in this noble community. Today I welcome you specifically to my blog, where I will be talking about respect. Before I move further with my discussion, I do love to say thank you to @steem-cameroon for this crucial, and very important topic. Remain blessed as you read below.

What you understand by Respect Define in your own words

In my understanding, respect can be defined as a process of treating an individual or people in a dignified manner.

It can also be seen as a process of treating someone in a positive manner that acknowledges him for who he is, or for what he is doing.

We can also decide to define respect as treating other people with consideration and kindness. It can also be seen as an act of treating other people like the way you want to be treated.

Have you ever been in a disrespectful situation before?

---

I so much believe that no one on earth can argue that he or she has never been in a disrespectful situation before. In one way or the other, everyone has ever been disrespected, and has also disrespected someone.

Personally, they are times I feel disrespect by someone, and they are times that I aslo disrespect others. For instance, there was a time I was selected to be a course representative in school, but one of my colleague stood up and said, " Christopher cannot be our class rep, he is too small and too stubborn to be our leader ". I really felt disrespected by what he said.

On the other hand, there was a time I saw my neighbour with his girlfriend, and I was like, is this what you are dating? She is too small and below your standard bro. Look for something beautiful and portable. If you look at those words of mine, it's clear that I have disrespected the lady.

Respect is rarely given to those who beg or demand for it.
It’s a thing that is earned by the way you treat others.

If you want to be respected, then you have to first of all respect yourself. Because its something you have to earn. Nevertheless, we are living in a generation where the young people don't longer respect elders. What a spoiled generation.

If we don't respect each other, how can the society make positive progress? If children don't longer respect elders, how can their life be blessed?

We all have the responsibility to respect one another. No matter the person's background or age, he or she deserve respect for who he or she is. With that, we will be able to work together, and make this world a better place.

Remember, no progress without team work. And there is no team work without respect. In essense, let give respect to ourselves, so that we all can work as a team, and make progress in life.

Nevertheless, first of all respect yourself so that someone can have a reason to respect you. Respect is earned. Try as much as possible to earn it.
