#parttwo: The negative effects of cohabitation.
Good evening to the great minds in this great platform.
I am convinced that the Lord has been faithful to you this whole day?
I am here this evening to push forward with the topic of Cohabitation that I began yesterday. I did promise to take it a little further today.
We live in a world and at a time when people love good things, especially those that have been confirmed 'good', yet very few people are ready to pay the price. Remember the wise saying, "Nothing good comes easy"
Marriage is good and requires so much from those who signs into it. The challenge we have in the world of marriage today is that many people wants to get in through the shortest cut possible. Cohabitation is one of those ways that seems shorter yet very dangerous and costly to take.
This evening, I will mention a few negative effects of taking the road of cohabitation to married or as marriage itself.
Unfaithfulness. Cheating to cohabiting couples is as simple as abc. Most people who cohabit generally practice individualism which leads to unfaithful of different kinds.
High risk of separation. Cohabitation is practised more on the bases of try and see if it works. This trial period can be months or years. If in the end, one party finds it uninteresting, walking away becomes the only way. Before this eventual separation, much must have happened.
Unwanted pregnancies. Self control is difficult during cohabitation giving way to unplanned pregnancies . This eventually gives birth to a sin of murder 'abortion'
Lack of commitment. It is difficult fighting to keep what you had without struggling.
Violence. Most ladies in a cohabiting relationship suffers much in the hands of uncaring men. They become victims of maltreatment, beatings and others kinds of cruel treatment simply because she was gotten at no cost.
There should more negative effects of cohabitation, but the few mentioned above are enough to save someone from practicing.
Is there a way out for those cohabiting? Of course, yes. What is the way? We shall find out tomorrow.
Good night and see you tomorrow.
