How climate change has affected me and my community.
Hello to everyone in this noble community. I want to thank @thegreens for bringing up this wonderful contest. I will hereby talk about the effects of climate change in my community.
These climatic changes have a negative impact on the environment. Sea level is rising, glaciers are melting, CO2 in the air is increasing, forest and wildlife are declining.
But it effect in my community is really a great problem to the people in my locality.
The lack of rain is causing droughts. Food crops palnted during raining seasons finds it difficult to grow due to the insufficient amount of rain fall.
Also other places with the receives the required amount of rain fall also get flooded during heavy rainfall due to the poor drainage system they have.
As a result of that the prices of food stuffs has risen unpredictably. Locals have being complaining here and there about the increase in price of things. Which is a seriouse issue that needs to be handled.
Also there is an increase in sun temperature these days. Which causes sickness among the locals. The three northern regions in Ghana experiences the highest rise temperature.
Climate change is causing a lot in my community like cardic diseases and other air bone diseases but these are the few i can talk about.
Climate change is a very big threat to rain fed agriculture in Africa. We are also experiencing the rain disappointments in Cameroon and this is greatly contributing to poor agricultural yields. When it rains, its fierce and causes a lot of destruction to the growing crops hence making the situation worst.
Prices of food will continue rising if we don't slow down the changing climate. We need to take urgent action to fix things or else the worst is still to come.
