CREATIVE WRITING: HOW THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF CROPS GROWN IN MY COMMUNITY CHANGED OVER TIME OF FARMING

Hi steemians! Good day and welcome to my entry post on creative writing titled : HOW THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF CROPS CHANGED OVER TIME IN MY AREA.
Farming has really evolved over time. Most countries now do mechanised farming around the globe to meet up with high demand of farm products. Many countries including Cameroon now support the supply of food by engaging itself into plantation farming and subsidising cooperative farming.

Am going to be writing on how farming has evolved in my local area Pinyin in the Santa subdivision. We grow a series of crops from vegetables like cabages, carrots celery, beetroot; fruits like mangoes and oranges. Irish potatoes, maize and beans are commonly grown.

In the past these crops used to be grown without any form of fertilizer. Farmers didn't know of any thing like fertilizer but but their harvest was the best in terms of quantity and quality. During these periods around the early 90s when you eat of Irish potatoes from Pinyin you will be satisfied in terms of quality.
By late 90s there was the introduction of the Ankara system of farming by the villagers and the yields within those years was great. It came a time around early 2000 that the community started feeling the other side of the Ankara system. Due to ignorance, the soil was burnt along side with its nutrients. Crops were no longer doing well and and farmers now start to sort for other methods of farming.
The introduction of both the chemical fertilizer and organic manure. With the increase in population this was the only option left. So as far as farming is concerned, most of the farming area needs either organic or inorganic manure for survival. Only farm lands around the periphery can still have it's natural texture for farming.

I see your village produce a lot of cash crops and indeed the use of chemical products like fertilizers has really been of help at times due to the rapid increase of our population

Wowww your village produces lots of crops too like mine apart from the spices you mentioned there which all of us Know that Santa is leader in production.
