Mountain Adventures at Mount Mbapit.

Hi Steemians. Greetings from one of Cameroon's underrated landmarks. Not many adventures perplex me as much as those where I set out to discover the world of the wonders of nature. My recent outing takes me to Mount Mbapit, an inconspicuous mountain in Cameroon's plethora of mountains. Situated in the western highlands of Cameroon, the mountain is raised about 1000m above sea level. Mt Mbapit is one of those places that makes you appreciate life off the grid and off the Internet.

It's the sort of place where you go to seek reconnection with nature, the untamed beauty of God's earth. Its organically(in every sense) grown fruits, geographical features, and somewhat rich biodiversity are mind-blowing. With the toxic fumes that have contaminated our air, for many, especially those born in cities with intense industrial activities a breath of fresh air may seem somewhat an abstract concepts. Up here though that idea of fresh air is as real as it can get.

Mount Mbapit is more than just a mountain – it's a living testament to the power and beauty of the natural world. It is an ideal location for an adventure with friends or thirty days in the wild sort of thing. You can see where I'm going with this... Yes, excellent for camping. Choose from a variety of trails that cater to all skill levels, each one promising breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. Set up camp beneath the stars and fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the wilderness, or challenge yourself to reach the summit and gaze down at the crater lake atop.

For anyone hoping to one day take on a hiking or camping trip up this mountain, let me do you the unsolicited favour (you are welcome) of informing you that Places like these are usually sacred to the villagers who are custodians of that land, so consulting with the village authorities is an absolute necessity. You may even be given an escort which is a plus. It does not come cheap though!
