PROTECT THE GIRL CHILD. STOP RAPE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

The number of RAPE cases in our community (mile 4) is becoming unbearable lately.
Last week Sunday at about 3:30pm when I went for our normal sports meetings, a friend was talking of how one of his tenant was raped. As if that was not enough before he could finish the story, another person jumped into the conversation with a story of a woman of about 55years being raped by more than 5 guys.

And the question that keeps popping into my mind is what the hell is going on?
What is our society really turning into?
When did we get here?
How did we get here?
How far we have fallen
When and how is it that young boys in our society have the guts to rape a woman of above 55years. And report has it that her husband and children were in the house sleeping.
It is unclear how this act took place but it is a fact we cannot deny that she was raped by more than 5boys in the community.

One of the best regions in the whole of Cameroon has become the centre/headquarter of all vices in the society.

Today I heard of another rape case that happened over the night, 23/05/2021.
It was of a girl that sales at a bar at mile 4. She was on her way returning home when she noticed that some guys where following her. In reaction, she ran fast to the house, got in successfully but was a little slow in locking her door probably due to panic. The guys came in holding a gun and tried to rape her. She then asked for protection saying she is infected, little did she know that the rapists will turn to her kid sister and rape her infront of her.

As of today, about 5 cases of rape have been reported in mile 4 and an attempted case who was safe because after breaking her door they noticed she was pregnant.
This rapists has been known to follow their victims to the house, broke their doors down and carry out this unbearable act.
It is still unclear to the people of mile 4 how this acts are carried out without near by neighbors noticing, because the it has been noticed this boys do not take anything from their victims houses.

The question in the minds of everyone now is what is the aim of this activities?
Can this be the act of boys who are fulfilling the request of a secret society or what?

So I ask now, who is supposed to keep our girls safe? This time they are not dressing indecently, they are not in risky places or being reskless. Yes some of them might be returning home late but they are trying to fend for themselves given the difficulties in meeting ends in the current Anglophone and Covid crisis.

The government is failing, the Society is failing, the parents are failing.

We owe our society the responsibility the right to keep our society, our girl child, our children safe. Let's standup for this country, protect your sister from rape, educate and train your kid brothers, nephews, cousins, children that RAPE IS BAD. Say No Rape.

And for the girls, please avoid night outings and if you must go out, get a boy company atleast. Or get a bike rider you know to take you to the house. Pay well so that he can wait for you to get into the house.
Those girls living alone, please insist on your landlord to reinforce your doors or stay with male counterparts.

Most of these rapists target girls living alone .
