Steem Cameroon Best Day Contest: 24/06/2021

Hello fellow steemians. Thank you steem-cameroon for the awesome contests you keep organizing. Thank you so much for being there for us.

My best day of the week was actually on the 20th of June. This day turned out to be one of the most amazing and shocking day of my life.
The previous day, Saturday, we had set sound at big Mankon Cathedral hall. So on Sunday, I had to wakeup and put the remaining stuffs we forgot to take along in the car. After doing that, I went and had my bath and dressed up while waiting for the others. When we all were ready, we left home. My elder brother, Nathan and I had to drop at Foncha junction to go to our house and do some stuffs. The unfortunate thing was that my mum didn't go to church that Sunday. So we had to go and sit for some time at @calebmasango's house while waiting for time. I contacted home but they told me my mum was still home. So Nathan left me and went to church. I sat there for some minutes then decided to go to Hope Baptist church Ndamukong. I just left and was trekking, waiting to see if I'll get updates from home that my mum has gone out but no updates came in do I just took a bike and went there. I asked my elder bro if he was in church or home so I could come meet him but he said he was in church but I could meet his wife home. I decided to rather go and sit in church. After about 10 mins, my elder bro called me outside. He told me he has spoken with an aunt of mine to distract my mum saying she needs her for something urgent. So I tried rushing home early enough so my mum could leave the house open but I reached when she had already gone out. I was stranded. I roamed around the house from back to front door searching for the keys but couldn't find it. My elder bro, Nathan came and joined me in the search but we couldn't find. So I decided to go to the backdoor and try something out. I tried opening the window from outside but it was hooked. So I decided to drag the window a little then use a knife to pull down that hook. When I pulled it down, I sent a stick and tried unlocking the bolt. After several attempts, I succeeded to unlock the top bolt. I then struggled on the downer bolt. I struggled and struggled and finally got it. We then got it. I contacted my elder bro and told him we were in. So he contacted his wife and told her to bring the stuffs home. I texted her to pass through the back door since my mum went out with the key. So a lot of people came home and passed through the back door. Extended family and church members came home. So we communicated with my aunt from time to time to know their move. Their church usually doesn't close late but this Sunday was father's day so service extended. We waited for them in so much tension. While they were on their way home, my aunt told us. Nathan, my kid bro, my aunt and I already practiced a song. I was playing the acoustic guitar while Nathan was on the bass and my kid bro on the drums on the keyboard. So my parents came home with my aunt and some elders from church. When we heard the sound of the car, we switched of the light and closed the backdoor so it will be like no one was home. The funniest thing is, my mum came and opened the door by herself. She told the people to get it. When each person was entering, we said "sshhppp". And my mum was the one ushering them in like she knew the plan. My dad then entered after everyone. Imidiately he entered, we switched on the lights and started singing "congratulations" by Ada. I saw my dad's face filled with Joy and his eyes wet. My mum just stood at the door in awe. I swear, this was one of the best days in my life so far, seeing my parents filled with so much great joy after a long time. So my mum quickly ran into her room and had a changed of cloths. When she came back, my other elder bro, being an MC had my parents come to the front.

The table was set and Cake placed on it. So before the cutting of the cake, he had them play a game. He started by asking my dad the colour of his wife's toothbrush 😂. He answered. Then he asked my mum the one thing my dad has done for here that she will never forget. Of which her answer was her education and spiritual life. He asked some other questions. The last question was directed to the both of them which was the place in Cameroon they like to go. My dad said Limbe and my mum said Far North cuz she hasn't been there before. He told them there is a marriage seminar coming up in Kribi of which they will attend. From there, they will go to Limbe and from there, they will arrange to go to Far North. My parents were both marveled. He told them that the expenses are not on them. Chai God, God is wonderful.
So all this was centered around one big thing which was The 30th anniversary of my Mum and Dad's marriage.

Everything went well, the plan to surprise them, and eneo too understood us because it was already above 12pm. So time for them to cut the cake had come. The baker came and spoke about the cake for a little and my mum and dad had to cut the cake on the spelling of 'LOVE'. After the cake was cut, my elder bro said they el not only go for a vacation, but he and his wife had decided to also give them a piece of land.

The above image is when he handed over to them a land certificate. This is something my mum and dad have been trusting God for. Little did they know that God will do it through their own son. I saw my parents filled with tears of Joy. I almost cried too 😁 though because I didn't see this coming. After that, my mum and dad just spoke words of appreciation a little then we popped champagne. Some family members were asked to speak and they said a lot of good things about my parents. They are people whose arms are open. They have sponsored a lot of people and hosted a lot of people in our house. The funny thing is that many of these people don't come back to show appreciate. Many of them rather go and castigate them. Howbeit, they kept doing the good work because their reward is in heaven.
When all these was happening, my mum stood in shock.

Well after all the talking, we had some food and drinks to take. My mother was asking me "so u too knew eh" 😂. The best part is we have not been home for some time. Then they just surface from church and see us playing music for them. Isn't that lovely? 😊. So after eating and drinking, we had to tell them we had to leave. So my elder bro and I left to attend a concert which was at Mile 3 by TS Bless Music Ministry.

I just went to show face and leave because I had to meet my team at Big Mankon Cathedral hall where we set sound for UBa Choir concert that very day. So I arrived there when the concert was still going on. After about two hours, the concert ended. I had a changed of cloths and we began parking the sound. So when we parked the sound, we came home and the driver took the truck and parked it at Baptist center.

So a summary of what made this day my best day of the week:

• The planned surprise which was almost compromised but went well
• The tears of Joy I saw well up in my parent's eyes
• My mum had told my dad she is trusting God for a land before December but never knew how. And God blessed them with land indeed.
