Steem Cameroon Contest - World Cancer Day: February 4 (Cameroon)

World Cancer Day is aimed at raising awareness about cancer, promote its treatment, early detection, prevention as well as to support those affected by the disease. It serves as a reminder that cancer is a global health issue that requires collective action and solidarity to handle.

The main goal of World Cancer Day is to decrease the global weight of cancer by promoting education about the disease and encouraging individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles, undergo regular screenings, and seek early medical intervention. It aims to dismiss misconceptions surrounding cancer and empower people with accurate information about prevention and treatment options.

My Mascot

My Mascot is a sick fellow levied upon him a terrible disease called cancer. This made him so sad and he felt hopeless and bothered. But thanks to his friends and family, who's stood by his side and encouraged him that things will go better from there he nursed the feeling of being able to stand on his own and voice out to the world saying I am stronger I believe I am well I believe that everything is possible.
So this is to pass across a message of those combating great illnesses that you all shouldn't give u just yet. Rather fight the champion that you are.

Changes Made to my community.

Well this day has brought about lots of changing to my community firstly by encouraging and promoting educational talks on lifestyle and hygiene and also how to prevent these disease.

Next this also changed my community in a way whereby it has brought Unity to the people as people do not hesitate to help those in need. As they do this by belonging to free associations where they execute voluntary services as well.

The active Promoters in the community

The active promoters of the world Cancer Day in Cameroon are the Red Cross and the world health organizations. Also the Ministry of Health assists too and even came up with a project called the universal health coverage whereby persons suffering from such illnesses are given free treatment in this domain so long as they get registered to the system.
