The national Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month is payed attention to in January. It's mission is to awaken consciousness about the global issue of modern slavery and human trafficking. So this month serves as a notifier for the ongoing fight against these serious violations of human rights and to point out the importance of prevention, intervention, and support for survivors.

It is also directed to illuminate a limelight on the issue of modern slavery and human trafficking, thereby motivating individuals, organizations, and governments to help prevent and fight against these crimes. It somehow provides an opportunity to teach the public about the signs of trafficking, support victims, and dwell our attention on removing these forms of exploitation.

When is the date set out for National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month?

It takes place throughout January every year. Runing from the the 1st of January till the 31st. As it falls with the international Anti-Human Trafficking Day, which is on January 11th, so as to memorialize the labors made globally to combat this issue.

This Sketch is a free bird which tells a little story of how man was born.
Man was born free like a bird with no chains but a free man. So it is bad to subject one to slavery and human trafficking. We all are equals as humans possessing the same human rights. So the rights of others should not be trampled upon by another.
So together let's all stand together and support each others rights as humans.

What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.

Well in my community this has brought some changes as a few persons abide by the laws governing the human rights. But others due to economic crises have spat on this and exercise their powers by kidnapping and killing persons as if they no rights. This has distabilized my community as a result.

Who are the active promoter, and what do you think can be added to have more impact to your community.

The promoters of such malicious acts consist of terrorist groups like the mboko Haram which is no need to most countries especially in Africa. Besides them are minor separatist groups settling in diverse areas causing harm and disorder in most communities.

I think only an understanding, both sides favouring and peace treaties can be the solution to this chaotic disorder.
