Steem Cameroon Contest - Feast of Saint Rosalia(Cameroon)

I'm really grateful to the @steemcameroon community for giving me this opportunity again to make a creative post. I'll just dive straight to the point and begin the contest.

Celebrating or commemorating a day is something that never gets old, because we get to recall the memories of that day, we go back in time and learn lessons, we recall the acts of great men and women. Today I'll be commemorating Saint Rosalia day.

What do you know about the day?

I'd first like to point out the History of Saint Rosalie, who was born in the year 1126 in Parlemo, Italy to Aristocrat parents who would have loved her to get married and tried to force her into it when she came of age but she refused admitting her devotion to Christ. She joined the convent in pursuit of her being a devout Christian where she was gossiped at. In view of that she decided to become a hermit, living in a cave where she died alone at ages 35.

500 years later, her name was put up on the Matyrology on July 15th to following the miracles performed during the plague that killed a lot of Italians. The feast day today is celebrated from the 10th to the 15th of July with a commemorating mass, and lots of parades made in her name as she became the Patron saint of Parlemo.

Propose and Draw a Mascot to represent the day

The mascot I'm drawing shows a woman with her eyes closed, this shows peace and gracefulness as the Saint had during her peaceful life and that's what she is emanating in all her actions as she decides to get peace by staying away from the gossiping convent to become a hermit.

What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.

A day as such is celebrated in Cameroon with a mass offering devotion to the life of Saint Rosalie as we look to follow in her ways and as well as the ways of other Saints who made history. This day brings an image to young people of how devotion to Christ is like.

Who are the active promoter, and what do you think can be added to have more impact to your community.

Active promoters of this day are the Catholic church, the reverend fathers and the devoted young Christians of Parlemo and also the world of the Christian faith, who acknowledge that Saints exist and can perform miracles in the name of Christ. This is a true act of faith and devotion to the Lord.
