Hip hip hip... Hurray 🎉🎉 it's a joyous cry in Angola today as they celebrate their Independence Day. Angola is found on the West of Africa and today I'll be letting you know all about their journey to independence join me as we go through history together 😊

What do you know about the day?

Angola's independence day is celebrated every year on the 11th of November and this marks their release from the clutches of the Portuguese nation during the time of colonialism and slavery.

The Angolans were forced to cotton production right after the Portuguese took over the country through a series of battles but the country rose a revolt against colonialism which lasted 13 years due to Guerilla tactics they used for the fight but at long last they were granted independence.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day?

The independence day is considered a public holiday in Angola and it's celebrated through parades, festivals in the community and a remembrance for all those who lost their lives during the 13 year war. Angola was seen as a disadvantage nation because of its little development especially against the Portuguese but due to their strong will and endurance they won the war and independence in 1975.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration?

There's a great joy when a country gains independence from colonialism and they benefits are in trade, events hosting and parties there's a walk through history as the country is reminded of the impacts of slavery and colonialism.

What issue or concern will you recommend being commemorated this week and on what date?

The next national day to commemorate this week is the world Pneumonia day which is on the 12th on November 2023. That concludes my presentation I invite @b-naj, @zenobiat to the contest.
