Every time I look at the advancement and in medicine I marvel at how fast it has evolved over the last century as with advancement in technology. Today I'll be commemorating a day that was made through the bravery of a Physician and now it is used to save millions of lives around the world. This day is the Ceasarian Section Day. With the review questions below 👇
What do you know about the day?
Ceasarian Section Day is a day set aside to commemorate the ever first Ceasarian Section performed in the year 1794 by the American Physician Jesse Bennett. Though no one knew about, the Physician took a great risk to save the life of his wife Elizabeth and his unborn daughter.
Propose and Draw a Mascot to represent the day.
Give a brief description of your mascot.
This is the proposed mascot for this purpose, it is an illustration of a pregnant woman with a dissection knives by her stomach and a cut line across her abdomen, this indicates the mark of a C-section. The woman represents every woman who is in complicated pregnancies and the surgery knife is the the saving grace of the surgeons who save lives.
What are the changes you think this day has brought to your community.
It is a day of remembrance for the first C-section performed in the year 1794. It is also a day for celebrating those who were born via C-section. There is also a lot of sensitization done by NGOs about the benefits of C-sections in saving lives of mother and children.
Who are the active promoter, and what do you think can be added to have more impact to your community.
The promoters of this day are World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, the general population of Cameroon. The need to add more NGOs to the movement will make the race to making C-sections more affordable for the population.
