While the Armed Forces Remembrance day is celebrated every year globally on the 11th on November here in Nigeria it's celebrated every 15th of January. it is also known as the armistice day, commemorating the end of the First world war and here in Nigeria the Armed Forces Remembrance day is a special day to remember all the fallen heroes in our country those one who gave their lives for us to live today. And also those who have lost their lives during civil war most recently the Boko Haram insurgency in our country Nigeria.

A public holiday is always observe nation wide on this day to commemorate the service of the Nigerian Armed Forces, this day also honors veterans of world war 1 and world war 2 as well as the Nigerian Civil War.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day

How our country Nigeria celebrate it is by organising events that involves a wreath laying ceremony done by the president of Nigeria at the defense Head quarter ( national cenotaph) Abuja (the capital of Nigeria), cenotaph can also be seen as places where special Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremonies are held like State level, local government levels, communities and areas honouring our fallen heroes and veterans. With military parades involving a guard of honor from the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Airforce.

Special prominence is also given to the Nigerian Legion, Known as a veteran association which organizes many events on this day along side the Nigerian government.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration

The impact that my community gain during the commemoration (Armed Forces Remembrance Day) is that, although I live in a military base and all the soldiers I mean the military men in our barracks share items to widow I mean does women who's husband's died in the war front during the cause of protecting our country Nigeria they also hold a combine service involving the Catholic and Protestants churches to honor our fallen heroes during the service, the preacher will preach about love for us to love another so peace can be restored in our country Nigeria after the service they also share refreshments to everyone in the ceremony.

After the celebration our Barracks will receive an amount of money to be shared among certain individuals, and some also received awards based on their performance in the service and we also we get free light for 2 weeks.

What issue or concern will you recommend to be Commemorated this week and what date

The issue I want to be Commemorated this week that's on Wednesday the 22nd of February 2023 is Ash Wednesday although some of us are Muslims so I want both Christians and Muslims to observe the 22nd of February a holy. The Catholic lengthen period begins on that day so we all should abstain our selves from eating meat infact anything concerning blood on that day, and we all are also expected to fast (not compulsory).

This day reminds us that we all are dust and unto dust we all shall return. So I will like this day to be Commemorated globally around the world.
