Good day to you all my ever green steemians. I am so thankful to @thegreens and the entire @steem-cameroon delegation team and it's community as a whole, for making available to the public another Volume of this Green Deeds contest💕.
I bring to you my entry in respect to experiences faced in my community (Buea, Southwest Region) as specified by the contest guide

Definitions

Climate:

Climate is weather
Climate is sometimes mistaken for weather, which isn't true. Climate is measured over a long period of time, whereas weather can change within minutes, hours or days.
In short, Climate is the average of weather over time and space.

Climate Change:

Climate change is a long-term shift in global or regional climate patterns.

I WILL STRICTLY WRITE IN RELATION TO MY COMMUNITY.

Some activities in my community which contribute to Climate Change.

The main driver of climate change is the Greenhouse effect caused by Greenhouse gases; which eventually leads to it's boss, Global warming, a present worlde-wide problem.
These greenhouse gases occur naturally, but human activities have escalated the amount of availability of these gases in the atmosphere. These gases include: Carbon dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide and Fluorinated gases.

Human activities resulting Climate Change:

  1. The release of Fluorinated gases into the atmosphere:
The wide use of appliances such as refrigerators in homes and commercial facilities (e.g restaurants), have widely increased the release of this gas.

  1. The act of Deforestation:
The rapid clearing of small farm lands and cutting of trees in the name of development (building houses), has really promoted climate change due to overall reduction in availability of trees to absorb some of the Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere during Transpiration.

  1. The act of combustion:
-The wide burning of refuge piles.
-The burning of fuel by machines.
-Burning of charcoal and woods during cooking.
    -The use of kerosene stoves.
All these processes release much more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Visible signs in my community due to Climate Change.

It's worth noting that all visible signs in relation to climate change in my community, is mainly as a result of seasonal change. Presently, we are experiencing an intense period of rainfall which seems to be extending pass its usually duration.
These visible signs include:

-Flooding:

IMG_20210919_173709_0.jpg
There is flooding every now and then due to the intense rainfall during a very short period, resulting to damaging of house furniture and valuables.
This also results in stagnant water which intend promotes habitation for mosquitoes, hence malaria alongside typhoid.

-Destruction of roads:

IMG_20210919_170719_4.jpg
The rain falls heavily and runoffs on the roads, resulting to severe erosion, thus making it difficult for cars to travel through.

IMG_20210919_171551_0.jpg
It also causes the roads to be muddy which tends to make it almost impossible for free movements to take place, and also hinders cars from passing through atimes.

-Destruction of Public Amenities:

The strong wind which accompanies the rain draws down the main electrical cables to the ground, and if not careful, could be very disastrous.

-Destruction of farm crops:

The heavy rain alongside strong wind eventually pulls down farm crops as well as pollute the soil with runoff residues such as plastics.

Measure taken in my community to help combat Climate Change.

Use of recycling items.

At the work place, we use disposable cups. Such that it has no effect if thrown away since they are bio biodegradable (they decompose with time. No need to burn).

I also shopped from Njie Forbi bakery today and was glad to notice that they use a plastic which conveys a message to its user, from the manufacturers, encouraging us to bring after use for recycling, rather than burning.

With that said, i com to the end of my write-up. I truly had much more to say, but i tried to make it as brief as possible. I am an environmentalist an will uphold the name till the very end.
Thank you so much for your keen attention, remain blessed.💕

This is really beautiful and it would have been nice if you targetted just the question of the visible signs of climate change in your community.
However, this is a very beautiful pieace containing lots of details about climate change as a whole and i really enjoyed reading and most especially your pictures.
