A Short Movie Script (S3-W08) : Animation (Fight Against Drug addiction)

Hello steemians. Glad to be here again.

Drug addiction is a persistent or constantly recurring degenerative disorder characterized by overwhelming drug seeking and use notwithstanding the extreme consequences.

There are some symptoms a person who is addicted to drugs shows and they includes;

• The person loses control of drug usage and would always binge on drugs

• Living secretive live in order to avoid been seen and change of friendship circle

• Buying of drugs without prescription and mixing drugs with alcohols

• The person would always have drug cravings and use of drug speech codes on phone

• The performances in academics or job will reduce and appearance in family meetings will reduce

• Their loved one will begin to find evidence of dug usage on them and they begin to disappear for long periods of time.

Plot (play) the movie in writing form.

The scene opens up in the rehabilitation center with a junkie named Charles. Charles mum Mrs Christine has come to the rehabilitation center to visit her only child who is in the rehab undergoing treatment due to drug addiction. Charles has been in and out of the rehab.

The previous times he tends to be improving and then he had a relapse and was back again. Mrs Christine was staring at her son who was suffering terribly and she broke down crying. While she cried her thoughts drifted away and back to how all this started.

She had met Charles father and they were dating and got married after 6months. They were in love with each other and finally gave birth to their son Charles. Charles was a lovely little boy who was very smart in his studies and was love by his parents.

Charles and his dad shared a great bond and were best of pals. Everything was all rosy until Charles Father Mr Josh met another young lady and fell In love with her. This brought a rift in the marriage and Mr Josh chose his new found love over his wife and lovely son. By this time Charles was already in high school.

This singular act of betrayal left Josh and his mum broken. Josh was broken so much that he began to find solace in other things and while he was dealing with his loneliness and loss of his friend and father, he met a young man whose name was Dennis. Dennis told Charles that he would introduce him to something that would take away his pain and that was how Charles got hooked on drugs.

Initially he seemed to improve and became lively again and the mum thought he was coming out of his depressed state after their hard experience. Little did she know it was an after math of the effect of the marijuana Dennis had introduced him to. Charles couldn’t find any happiness except he takes this drug and soon he began to live secretive life and to miss classes.

His association with Dennis caused his academics to dwindle badly as Dennis wasn’t a serious student either. His teacher Miss Majorie tried to reach out to him all to no avail and she had to tell Mrs Christine of the whole incident.

It was then She began to monitor her son’s activities only to find out he was doing drugs. At this point Charles was already addicted and can’t seem to live off drugs. His state began to deteriorate and he was taken to a rehabilitation center the first time after he dropped out of school.

He got better but after he left the rehab he found his way back to drugs again and has been experiencing a relapse this been the third time actually. It was at this third time the mum came to visit him and was in tears. Charles had dropped out of school and his life simply came to a stand still due to his addiction to drugs. The school authorities had to start organizing seminars on fighting drugs for the high school students to educate them on the adverse effects of drugs due to Charles experience and why they should stay from drugs at all cost.

The question on his mums mind was how long will this continue? Is there a hope to recover Charles after been this long addicted? Can this BROKEN soul be fixed?
