International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

As we know that people of Palestine are facing hardship and strict problems from the last many years specifically from the last few days. The International Day of Solidarity with the people of Palestine is observed every year on 29, November. It is a specific day to raise awareness about the disputed area of Palestine. On this day a support is shown to the Palestinians. This is a very significant as it helps to highlight to issue of Palestine. It shows the struggles and hardships which the poor people of Palestine are facing. It works for the peace of the Palestine and Palestine. It promotes peace resolutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Historical Background

The origin of this day is very old as the dispute in Palestine has been going on for the last many years. This has the background from the last 75 years. The history of this day started from the United Nations General Assembly as they adopted the Resolution 181 in 1947. This resolution was called for the partition of Palestine into two separate parts. One part for the Jewish and the other part for Arab states. But this resolution went wrong as the resolution committee made many wrong decisions. They ignored the rights and needs of the people of Palestine. So the people of Palestine fell into the hardships and tensions because of that unfair decision of resolution. And it is the result of that unfair distribution decision leading to ongoing tensions and conflicts in the region.

How do you or your country or your organization celebrate the day? (50–100 words)

On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People different events and activities take place. These take place globally to raise awareness and show support. These include:

• 1. Conferences and Seminars: Conferences and seminars take place especially in the academic institutions. The organizations hold conferences and seminars to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. These raise awareness about its historical background and about solutions. These events provide a platform for experts and activists to share their useful thoughts. It provides a platform to the policymakers to share their insights and perspectives.

• 2. Cultural Exhibitions: Art exhibitions and film screening are made in the respect of Palestinian people. Different cultural events are also made which raise awareness about the Palestinian struggle. These events increase and develop understanding about Palestinian problems among different communities.

• 3. Solidarity Campaigns: Activists and organizations use social media platforms to promote solidarity with the Palestinian people. They encourage their followers to share their support by using the specific hashtags. People make different posts and messages and they share stories to raise awareness about the Palestinian community.

• 4. Peaceful Demonstrations: Peaceful rallies are held in various cities around the world. These rallies express solidarity with the Palestinian cause. These gatherings provide a platform for people to come together and to advocate for justice. These rallies demand an end to the conflict.

• 5. Diplomatic Efforts: On this day, governments and international organizations work collectively to find a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They show the importance of diplomacy and dialogue. They all work for the forever peace.

What impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration? (50–100 words)

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People rests a number of impacts during and after the commemoration.

This day plays an important role in educating people about the conflict and problems about the people of Palestine. All the Muslim countries and other human rights agencies celebrate it by educating people about the history of this issue. They tell the political context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They raise voice on the challenges of Palestinian people. They raise awareness about the struggle of Palestine for the peace.

All the celebrations are aimed at the importance of finding peace. And they aim at finding fair solutions to the conflict. For the achievement of peaceful situations the organisations encourage dialogue and negotiations. People raise awareness to have a resolution which can respect the rights of Palestinian people. And in that resolution there should be the rights and aspirations of Israeli people as well.

People also highlight the need for continued support for the people of Palestine on this day. People raise awareness about humanitarian efforts for Palestine. And the awareness is raised for the people of in Gaza and the West Bank. On this day campaigns are run for increased international aid. Different initiatives are run to improve living conditions and to promote development in the region.

What issue or concern will you recommend being commemorated this week and on what date?

I am going to recommend to raise awareness about the issue of Palestine which I have discussed above. I want that all the world's higher authorities should raise awareness about the Palestine and Israel conflict. As the day is coming of solidarity with the Palestinian people so we all should pay attention to solve this issue. It is very important for the peace in that region. Every day many people are dying there including children, men, women of every age. I want that on the day of solidarity there should be a decision that the people and the children of Palestine can wake up in the morning listening to the chirping of birds not the horrible voices of bombs.

Conclusion

This international day serves as a dynamic for the support of Palestinian people. It encourages the authorities to make some peaceful resolutions so that the people of Palestine can stay free from fear. They can stay without being bullying by anyone. This days is very important which helps to raise the voice of Palestinians. We should contribute at this day for the wellness of Palestine. We should raise awareness about the peace in Gaza and the west bank which is affected by this issue a lot.
