Welcome to my blog today as I am here to participate in this wonderful contest organised by the @steem-cameroon.
Indeed this is a very interesting contest and I hope you all will enjoy my entry below.
What do you know about the day
This is a local celebration in my area where children are always celebrated every year in our church.
And it's called Children Harvest day usually held on every 8th of October.
Children are gifts from God 🙏 and it's best we celebrate them once in a while because they are very special and innocent.
God answers their prayers easily because they are innocent and special, children are blessings in every home and in the life of every parents because they bring joy and happiness to our home.
This day is just like Christmas day for all the children in our church because they are always treated special.
On this day children are well celebrated in our church and every activities in the church are always done by the children including singing and all other activities in the church in that day.
How do you or community celebrate the day
This day is well celebrated by everyone in our community and most especially in our church.
Before the day we will notify every child to know about the date and to tell their parents to prepare about the day and also make them look good on that day.
The children are the host of that day in our church, they are the ones that will sing in that day, read on that day and infact every activity that day will be done by that children.
They will be dancing competition and also singing competition to get the best out of them and prize will be distributed to the best dancer and also the best dancer.
They will be spelling competition among the children and also eating competition for those that loves eating food.
In our church we will organised a party for all the children to enjoy themselves and they will have enough to eat and drink.
They will also be video games for the children to entertain them because most of them love video games.
What impact does your community during and after the commemoration
We as a church and also as a community receives different gifts from our neighborhood and we get huge amount of money contributed by them to support our harvest.
My community gain a lot during that celebration, we usually organised a table for every child in our church and they will donate some money for us to support the church.
During the celebration each child is expected to bring the sum of #1000 to support the harvest and we gain financial support form parents and also our neighbouring villages.
We spend some money to organize the harvest but after the harvest we gain more than what we spend organising the occasion.
What issues or concern will you recommend to be commemorated this week and why
The issue I will love to be commemorated this week is national workers day.
I choose this day because as workers we all need rest at some point in our lives because it's not good to over stress ourselves. Workers try their best and it's good they are recognize for their hard work.
So I will like thursday being the 12th of October to be workers day all over the world.
