Squirrel stew? No thanks! We have enough Walnut and hickory nut trees in the neighborhood that they always go into winter fattened up nicely. Towards Spring they look a lot more scrawny!
I wonder how they taste but I'm not about to discover it.
I have eaten squirrel... It reminded me of rabbit. If I was starving I could do it.
That's interesting. My grandfather told me that groundhog tasted like mutton. When you look at the foods we eat, (take coffee, who figured that out?) you never underestimate the ingenuity of hungry people.
