Today, its a wonderful Tuesday in the third month since day of lock down in my nation in Uganda. Before i start, let me share something on farming as this is on my mind !

Agriculture is the backbone of my nation. Let me tell you something. Whatever we are using to treat Covid-19 comes from agriculture. All the medicine, the raw materials that make masks is from cotton. Almost every thing , the vitamin C is from some fruits like citrus and so on. That's just a glimpse of the power of agriculture.

I think we need to get back to farming and learning about agriculture. The world now needs food more than never before. This plague of corona pandemic across the globe needs farmers like never before.

Farming is more than what most people think. Some misinterpret it as a work for poor people, the helpless, who have nothing to do! NO! Ignorance and lack of exposure is very dangerous.

Let me bring this to the world's attention, we have seen that a lot of the things we have trusted but have not helped us. We have money yes, money answers all things -need to pay rent, buy food.. It gives us answers. However, having money has not given us the solution. We need the solution!

Agriculture today is to be promoted like never before. We need to invest our resources, our time, our money, our technology into agriculture. Agriculture partly brings the solution to the famine across Africa, Asia, America, Australia and so on. God being the ultimate solution to what's going on. God has given us land, water, plants so we can also come up with a solution to problems the world is facing.

I think the pandemic is opening our eyes guys, that its time we thought about the big picture. We want our land to be healed from the pandemic. There is a difference between treating/cure and healing. Treating is he answer. Healing is the solution.

The things we are using to treat the pandemic is coming from agricultural products.

My Vision in Farming.

Agriculture is still needed across the globe. I want to see that many come to the knowledge of farming. Yes!

I started doing some farming to combat this plague by growing vegetables, foods that have to boost our immunity against this virus.

I want to open others eyes to see the importance of engaging in farming. I want to do this more in peoples homes. Yesterday, I did some small urban farming and it was successful. I want to see that families can be able to afford simple food without necessarily going to the market. This is possible I believe. This seems like a mountain, but it will have to move away. I hate poverty with a passion.

Also, I want to teach others about farming. In want to see even the young children doing this with ease! This has not been in our culture. We have thought that farming is only for the adults. However, its time to train our children into farming. They need to grow with the vision. We need to instill the need for farming into them as they grow up!

Today morning I woke up and went to irrigate my vegetables that I planted in sacks. I found them healthy, though some had been infested with some bugs. Since, I am an organic farmer, I do not encourage the use of chemicals. So I applied some wood ash on the leaves to control and kill these nagging bags. Of course pests are the most disturbing thing during farming. Its a challenge if some one has no much knowledge about them.

Of course, I did some harvesting as well. Its great and a wonderful joy to harvest what you planted. This is what I want to see every family do! I love to see every family have their own food without having to disturb others.

Anyhow, Agriculture as I said has to be supported and I am very glad for this platform that i can reach out my vision to the rest of the globe.
