COVID-19 UPDATE IN MY LOCATION

COVID-19 is the current pandemic ravaging the entire globe without exception. Mankind socio/economic and health life have been negatively impacted upon. No one is spared both rich and poor.
In Port Harcourt, Rivers state, Southern Nigeria where I live, the state government have done and still taking a lot of anti-spreading measures to curtail the spread of Covid-19. These measures are not palatable to the citizenry.
There have been total luckdown in two major local government authorities in the state. These two local authorities, Port Harcourt City and OBIO/AKPOR are the economic nerve centres of the entire state and a major oil producing State in Nigeria. Shops and markets are closed down to avoid from person to person contacts. Churches are closed, where they open for worship, they should not be more that 50 worshipers per session and social distancing MUST be maintained.

As at this moment Rivers State being an oil hub of the country has recorded 394 confirmed cases, 21 deaths and 158 recovery. It could have been worse, special thanks to our able governor, Chief Ezebunwo Nyeso Wike who is working tirelessly even being on the streets himself to enforce the luckdown order.

Life have generally not been easy for those who depend on daily hustles to take care of their families. For this reason, the state governor being a listening governor has temporarily lifted the lock down but with strict observance of the Covid-19 safety rules put in place.
I do hope that this phase of international life will soon be a thing of the past. Meanwhile,
