Venezuela and its culture

Venezuela is a country located in South America in front of the Caribbean Sea. The official language is Spanish but there are more than 30 indigenous groups that speak their own dialect. For example Waraos, Yukpa, Yekuana, Yanomami, Pemón, Guajiro, Guajibo and Kariña, among others.

In Venezuela there are different environments. In the north is the coastal zone, in the south is the jungle zone and an area of the Amazon. In the west is the Andean mountain range. In the south-west and center, the areas are plains. There are also desert areas such as the Coro Dunes.

The average temperature is 27 degrees Celsius but it can also be 32 degrees Celsius in the most arid areas.

In my country the gastronomy is very varied. But there are four foods that people everywhere make them, arepa, pabellón criollo, soups and hallacas. The arepa is made of corn flour and roast. They can be filled with stews, vegetables such as avocado, cheese, ham or any filling that the diner likes.

The pabellón criollo is a dish of rice, shredded meat, plantain and black beans. The soups can be made of fish from the sea or river, beef or chicken.

Hallacas are the typical food of December. It is made with a stew of beef and pork, placed in a mass of corn flour. It is wrapped in banana leaves and boiled for 1 hour.

In gastronomy there are also delicious desserts like mango jelly, guava sweet, rice with coconut, and a great variety of cakes, my favorite cake is with cocoa.

The music is very happy especially the Joropo that is played all over Venezuela. In the carnivals the best music is played in El Callao and it is El Calipso. Many years ago this festivity was recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

In the state of Zulia the music is La Gaita. But not bagpipes like the Scottish bagpipes. It is a Venezuelan rhythm that is executed with four, drums and furruco. The bagpipes are heard mainly during the Christmas season.

In the eastern states of Venezuela, people like the music of malagueñas (sailor songs) and galerón. Possibly, it is a heritage of the Canary Islands.

In the north-central part of Venezuela there is an area called Barlovento where music is played on drums. In that area the people are mostly black descendants of African peoples.

In Venezuela the race is mainly a mixture of Spanish, African and native people. Almost nobody is pure except for many aborigines.

People dress in modern clothes. The aboriginal peoples also dress in modern clothes but in their territories they wear clothes more attached to their cultural style. For example, women wear skirts or dresses (never pants), and men may wear loincloths or gaius.

Venezuela is an oil country with very modern cities. There are large buildings, luxurious houses and many vehicles (now there is a problem with gasoline and you see fewer cars on the streets). Like other countries, Venezuela also has poverty and even misery. The people are very hard working all year round.

Venezuela is a young country. The average age must be in the 40s and almost all are professionals from universities. There are entrepreneurs in various sectors of the economy. There are also many trades that are still practiced as shoemakers, bricklayers, bakers, fishermen, seamstresses, etc.

The climate of the country favors the raising of cattle and pigs. Throughout the year you can get milk and make cheeses that are typical of each region. For example, cheese of telita, cheese guayanés, cheese llanero. All are cheeses but they have different textures.

I think that Steem is the best opportunity for cryptocurrency. In steem there are many Venezuelans since a long time ago. I don't like social networks but steem is different. Venezuelan entrepreneurs, creative Venezuelans and Venezuelan professionals can invest and work on Steem.

Venezuela is charming and multicultural. Welcome to this tropical country any time of the year.
