Full Details About Poloniex
In case you're here to find out about Poloniex trade, you most likely definitely know in any event a little about digital money. For individuals who effectively own "primary" coins like Ethereum and Bitcoin, Poloniex is a good platform to exchange them for altcoins like Monero or Golem or whatever else.

Founded in January 2014, Poloniex is one of the more seasoned crypto exchanges. It is presently the sixth biggest crypto exchanges on the planet by every day trading volume. Situated in the US, Poloniex serves crypto traders and investors all around the globe.

However, Poloniex exchanges has been having a few issues lately, with poor support, dropped transaction, users complaints. So which is right? Is Poloniex one of the best crypto exchange amongst other crypto exchanges as its every day use would demonstrate, or is it on the decay? We'll tackle all of the above below, as well as provide you with a simple instructions on how to use Poloniex exchange for your own cryptocurrency trades.

What is Poloniex Trade?

Basically, Poloniex trade is a place to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Steem, SDB, and Tether for many different coins. Poloniex exchange doesn't accept payment with fiat currencies like the Dollar or Euro. All things being equal, you need to get one of the above currencies through another exchange (like Coinbase for Bitcoin or Ethereum), then transfer those coins over to your Poloniex wallet.
Poloniex exchange offers a lot of value when compared to competitors like Bittrex. For one, Poloniex's users funds are Store in cold wallets. This implies that your assets won't be on the web, for example nobody will have the option to "hack" or take your coins. Poloniex just keeps enough coins online to ensure there is sufficient to go around while exchanging. This makes Poloniex trade more secure than most, however there was an essential hack in Poloniex's initial days.
Poloniex also offers a variety of trade types (margin trading, stop-limit orders). This implies that you could make profit on Poloniex without making an exchange. This part3 will cover the details about trading types below, but these should be familiar to experienced traders.

Now for the sad news. Poloniex has had trouble handling the massive that has been pouring into the crypto industry. This issue is by no way, limited to Poloniex; you'll basically discover it with every single popular exchanges and currencies. In any case, this has implied that a few users have had dropped transactions or have been not able to withdraw funds. Read on these part 3 to see whether this is a dealbreaker.

What's Extraordinary About Poloniex Trade?
Poloniex has a unique quality that make it stand out from the crowd. Here are probably the most essential:

  1. Cold storage of 90% of users funds.
  2. Permits trading with 4 currencies, not simply Bitcoin and Ethereum as is frequently the situation. Monero Steem, SBD, and Tether will be satisfied.
  3. Permits Margins Lending, in addition to margin trading and stop limit orders.
We've just covered the main topic, however shouldn't something be said about the other two?

Why Does Poloniex Exchange Support Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Steem and Tether?
The straightforward answer is that supporting these 5 currencies makes Poloniex useful to a great number of customers than offering just one or two. It's costly and time consuming to trade cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, which is particularly troublesome if you only perform the trade so that you can buy something else. The added currency support makes things more straightforward for a portion of the Poloniex user base.
Poloniex likewise supports these 5 coins in particular because of their history of growth and relative stability. No coin in crypto can be described as genuinely steady (except for Tether), however Monero, Bitcoin, Steem, and Ethereum have had such widespread adoption and such dramatic increase in value, that they can be considered at least somewhat stable for such coins.

What is a Stop-Limit Order?
No Poloniex review would be complete without explaining order types that are more complex than simple market orders. Luckily for beginners, Poloniex exchange offers just one: the Stop Limit Order.

An investor would utilize a Stop-Limit Order if they wished to buy a coin at a lower price than it was currently selling, yet needed to ensure they didn't get it during a value crash, this rendering they new investment almost worthless.
The "Stop" in the Stop Limit Oder is the price at which the investor would like to buy. Bitcoin, but only if it fall to $15,000. However, one of the event in which this price action might occur is during a Bitcoin crash.

During such a crash, the cost of Bitcoin may fall $9,000 or much more, in which case the investor would not like to touch it. Setting a "limit" at $12,000 will prevent the trade if Bitcoin's price went any lower, thus keeping the investor from buying a crashing coin.

What is Margin Lending and Margin Trading on Poloniex Exchange?
IMG_8341.JPG
Margin trading is straightforward. Essentially, it's the point at which an investor uses the balance of their portfolio as collateral to borrow even more money that they can use to trade (confident) profit. Poloniex permits users to margin trade up to 2.5x their real record balance (or the sum they are happy to secure an agreement).

Margin Lending is a feature that is unique to Poloniex among all other crypto trades we're mindful of. Poloniex makes a shared (P2P) market where a few clients loan their cash to different clients for margin trading. The lender receive day by day interest for as long as the money is borrowed, and can sometimes get good profits.

Hi @josepha,

As I can see you have already completed Achievement Task 6 in the Newcomers Program, which means you have already gone through "What is spam/plagiarism and basic etiquettes in publishing content in Steem Blockchain". So it is a little disappointing to see you using other's content/infographics/images without citing the source, especially because you have gone through Newcomer's program.

Please do not portray someone's work as your own original work, even if you write @josepha in the thumbnail that does not become your original work, please cite the source also, so that the readers will have a better understanding of your content and of your effort.

If you have any doubt, please feel free to ask.

Thanks

Hello @sapwood

It is advised that you cite any images or content that is not yours, That's what the Achievement Task 3 is all about. You wrote well about the poloniex platform but where i am surprise is how you manage to cite other images without sourcing the one that you collected from @sapwood.

You are allowed to use someone's work but please don't forget to give credit to the original work. Let's assume that you might have forgotten the content Etiquette on steem blockchain but please in your next publications always remember and don't copy someone's work without citing the original source. I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

In poloniex we getting 5 different major coins pair and also having 90+ alt combination.

This is very huge but here trading fee is little bit high compared to other exchanges. And also not possible to buy fiat directly only using card is available in web browser only. Through mobile we cant buy any crypto using card.

But still poloniex is good exchange for traders because of its simple neat trading view interface attracting a lot. For beginners understand very well.

Nice post from you.
