HushPuppi Has Been Charged To Court In The Us, Here Are Four Notable Things About The court Case

The news about the arrest and extradition of Raymond Olorunwa Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi's and his close friend and known associate Olalekan Jacob Ponle better Known as Mr Woodberry's has been the main talk of the town including on social media.

Hushpuppi and his gang was taken down in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by the Dubai Police in a well coordinated operation dubbed 'Fox Hunt 2', and on Friday July 3rd, Abbas was charged to court in Los Angeles.

Copies of the charge sheets was released to the public and below we stated the notable things about the investigations and charges.

1. The FBI conducted a detailed and thorough investigation.

From the charge sheets released, it is obvious that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a thoroughly conclusive investigation before declaring Hushpuppi wanted and issuing for his arrest warrant.

The charges shows that the FBI tracked every move of the accused, and had the accurate time, dates, phone numbers, details of his social media accounts, and travel history, including how he spends his money and what he spends it on.

Their investigation also revealed how they defrauded their victims and how they were able to launder the proceeds from their scams into banks in the US, Europe and other parts of the world.

1. Abbas did not operate alone

According to the revelation made by his accusers, Hushpuppi didn't operate solely, rather with a gang of accomplice which their identify is yet unknown and were only referred to a Coconspirator 1 and Coconspirator 2 on the court sheets. They operated as a team and from different parts of the world.

1. His methods of Operations exposed

His modus operandi focused includes Business Email Compromise (BEC). A Business Email Compromise is a means where a hacker gains an unauthorized access to a business email account of a company, thereby using it to block or divert communications and funds with their clients. He was also involved in Cyber-heist.

It was also revealed that he severally targeted and defrauded companies funds running into tens and hundreds of millions of dollars and laundered such funds into his different bank accounts in Europe. Hushpuppi and his ring were also involved in a fraudulent scheme to scam an English Premier League Football Club of funds running over £100million pounds (₦48.4billion).

1. The FBI Investigations was conclusive and charges has been made

After the conclusion of the detailed investigations, all the charges points at Hushpuppi for committing the crimes, it is now left for him to defend himself in the court of law by picking a lawyer to represent him during court cases. According to reports, he will face up to 20 years in prison if found guilty of all the charges.
