THE DIARY GAME : 02/08/2020 - Playing Organ During Sunday Service

Hello Diarists!, Today was special & great for me. Though I had been playing keyboard (organ) for very long time, but today, I enjoyed the service than the rest of the days in my life. Despite the Covid 19 which has limited the attendance for Sunday service, from the start of the service to the end, everything was perfectly done. The other singing group, the preacher, the organist, the instrumentalists; all did well till the end of the service. I was the one playing the keyboard.

When I woke up from bed, I did small household chores: sweeping my room, moping my floor, washing bowls, polishing shoes and pressing on my shirt and trousers. I quickly bathed and dressed up. The church time has been extended from 1 hour to 2 hours time. So we begin exactly 9:00am and close exactly 11am. Also, the reduction of attendance to 100 capacity seat has been lifted for everybody to come of which we began today. Was it 8 o'clock when I finished dressing. From my house to the Church is not far, so I decided to walk. I reached the Church premise around 8:15am. I had to pass through all the protocols of the Covid 19 prevention: washing my hands under tap water with soap, cleaning my hands with tissue and finally sanitizing my hands.

I was then took my body temperature with the thermometer gun and allowed to enter the room.

When I entered I took my seat as organist and began my rehearsal before the singers come. I needed to coordinate with the instrumentalists sing we all have to support for the sing become nice. I backed the organ during worship and praises. It was time to hear the sermon from our District area Pastor. So, I paused to pave way for him to preach.

When the District Pastor finished preaching, it was time to collect the offertory from the congregation, this is normally done voluntarily. It's not obligatory to collect offering from Church members. The organist and the instrumentalists began to play their instruments. The singers sung beautifully. The organ, guitar and everything went on well. The congregation also danced well to the music.

After this, the Church secretary gave his announcement while the District Pastor gave led us into a short prayer to close the Church activities. It was exactly 11:07am. I allowed the congregation to exit while I helped my friend instrumentalists to gather their machines and arrange them well. That is what we always do when we close from Church. I then covered my keyboard(organ) with cloth to prevent dust entering into the motherboard. I then exited from the Church premise to my house to continue the rest of activities.
