Movie review : THE LOVEBIRDS

All about a couple Leilani and Jibran (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally caught in a murder mystery. As they try to clear their names, the fine themselves get into more troubles lol, Now they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.

The opening is sweet and realistic as a setup to the peril they will find themselves in.

Much of the plot will be just going to this point to find this out but the leads make the somewhat predictable ride fun. you see them try to keep the relationship fight while finding a way to redeem the self from the murder mystery.

One of the best scenes in the film is the scene where they are about to be tortured to find out what information they have (an envelope). The interaction between both leads is comical and they work well off each other’s quips, not forgetting the counts lol. when Kumail Nanjiani starts counting "one two three", Issa Rae ran off because of the scenes Bicycle was killed by the cop with their car (Kumail Nanjiani start counting "one two three", ran off living Issa Rae at the spot).

Another scene that works very well is when they think a cop has spotted them as suspects and are relieved that the police officer is just racially profiling them as he stares.

Another crazy scene when Sacrarium's members are told to remove their masks to reveal who snuck into the party on Bicycle's invite. The leader tricks Leilani and Jibran into revealing themselves and removing their masks.
