Covid19 is an astonishing issues that started in the year 2019. It came into Nigeria in march 2020.
The pain and effects were not envisaging. When it came into the country, it affected many aspect of the country. Businesses were closed, the educational system was closed down. This is because no measure arranges was on ground to manage the situation.

Within a short time, everything came to a standstill. Lockdown was introduced with different rule and punishments for the offenders. Shopping was no more allowed. Strange pain came upon people. The worst of it all was that most people had no savings, that could help to sustain them while at home, including little children who knew nothing about the epidemic.

The borders were closed which made importation of goods impossible both within and outside the country. Covid19 is just a misfortune for the world. Africa was hit because there are so many less privileged as a result of underdevelopment and poverty.

Since COVID 19 outbreak, the whole system of the country has been shut down, even their sustaining natural resources has dropped drastically with very low export and sales.

The health system of the country is not very effective to manage the epidemic even those who tested positive and are quarantined are not well managed. They are all lamenting in their hostage. It is a serious issue that has been very difficult to manage.

The figures are rising seriously daily because there are no adequate measures to manage the situation.
From 1 case as it started from the beginning, at present the reported cases are 13,464, discharged 4,206 and death 365.

This escalating numbers and record have brought so much fear on people.
The government policies are welcomed development to aid in fighting covid19 virus, but this has not yielded much fruitful result in getting the problem solved.

There was urgent close down of the operating system of the country by the president without providing adequate measures to manage the outbreak.

In other western countries, adequate provision was made by the government for her citizens before the lockdown was announced, but it wasn’t so in my country. Money was donated internationally and within but as a result of corruption which has kept the country where it is, our experience in this covid19 period has not shown that the money is well utilized, because a large number of people has suffered terribly within this period.

Within the early period of the outbreak, the borders were open instead of creating effective measures to restrict external movement into the country. That was one of the serious mistakes that were made by the government.

The government in their way has been trying to quench the fire of the epidemic with the measures they tried to import Anti virus herbs from Madagascar and another medium of cure that is on trial.

The citizens with general enlightenment have already created awareness and suggested measures to keep ones self-safe, e.g. washing of hands, wearing of face mask etc.

These are the measures that are being taken by the citizen to keep safe.
It’s a great challenge, but with God and wisdom we will overcome and soon I believe that the world at large will celebrate victory over COVID 19.
