Old Fashioned Music

in Music4 years ago

I'm a person who listens to music all the time and I love most of kinds.

In my opinion, The Older Musicians like the ones who are in their 50’s+ are way way better than today’s musicians who rely on computers and autotunes, The value of caring people’s ears. The meaningful lyrics, the heartfelt voice, melting lullabies, the soulful singers! They had it all.

SO If you want to relax and enjoy the real music I would recommend singers like /Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Julio Iglesias, ….etc./

Atheel,
I agree that there seems to be more "soul" as it were in the older music. But there is plenty of new music that is just as good. Frank Sinatra didn't write songs, he sang them. Same for Dean Martin and Rosemary Clooney and Judy Garland. Sam Davies Jr. was also a singer, but he could dance as well, so he had that going for him.
If you look at music that people both wrote and performed you have to go into country/bluegrass music -and not all of it. Dolly Parton writes her own, so does Willy Nelson. However, Willy Nelson also wrote some of Patsy Clines greatest hits. If you go past the 1960's into the 1970's, that's where you get into the idea of the singer/songwriter.
The greatest issue now is that so much music has been written, recorded and copyrighted that you get into a situation where your new song sounds like an old song and could cost you, legally, in the end. Like what happened to the writers of Blurred Lines. Marvin Gaye's family sued stating they stole copyrighted music. Marvin Gaye's family won in court.
There is nothing wrong with loving the standards, but don't hold yourself back by only listening to the old. Get some of the new Michael Buble' or Adele. You never know, you may find yourself enjoying them as well.
