May 15, 2022) Former captain of the national cricket team and famous batsman Shahid Afridi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Australian cricket legend Andrew Symonds in a car accident. In his tweet, Shahid Afridi said, "I offer my heartfelt condolences to the friends, family and fans of Andrew Symonds." The day should be spent happily and be a good memory for the world.

The former cricketer added that "Shane Warren and Andrew did a lot for cricket."

According to US media, the car of former cricketer Andrew Symonds crashed near Townsville. Australian police say the crash happened just after 11pm local time near Townsville.

Symonds, 46, has played 198 ODIs, 46 Tests and 14 Twenty20 Internationals and has been a part of the two-time Australian World Champion squad. He made his ODI debut for Australia in November 1998, but Symonds reached the international circuit in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. Andrew Symonds is the third Australian player to die this year after Shane Warne and Rodney Marsh. It should be noted that on March 4 this year, the legendary Australian league sniper Shane Warren also died at the age of 52 due to cardiac arrest.
