Good day my dear steemians. How are you today ? I am really excited to participate in this contest because I find the topic very interesting . I will be making an origami football-goalpost, I hope you like it.

When I saw this contests, I immediately remembered my Childhood days when we used paper to make different things like boats, ships, aeroplelanes, goal posts etc.

I particularly loved the goal post because we used them to play a football game, we called it hand soccer. We made the goalposts with paper, the football players were bottle covers, the goal keepers were match-boxes and the ball was made of beads or round fine pebbles.

I always made the goal posts while my friends brought the bottle-cover players.

Due to the fact that it's been a very long time since I made those origami arts , it took a while before I could remember how I made those goalpost. I finally remembered so let me show you how I did it as a kid, you will really love it.

STEPS TO MAKE AN ORIGAMI GOAL-POSTS

• First cut out a sheet of paper ( A4 size paper is used here) --- 1

• Then fold width in into two halves ---- 2

• Fold the width from the vertex to form a right-angled triangle as shown in the picture --- 3

• Fold one sheet of the other end to meet the first folded part making 2 right-angled triangle as shown in the picture --- 4

• Turn the paper backwards, it's shape should be as shown in picture --- 5

• Fold the the second sheet backwards, the shape should now look as shown in picture --- 6

Note : Do this for the both the top and bottom of the paper.

• After folding both the top and bottom of the paper, its shape should now be hexagonal as shown in picture --- 7

• The next thing to do is to fold the end having two sheets to meet the other end, both of them should be mirror images of each other ( that is they should have the same shape. --- 8

• After that, The shape should look like as shown in picture --- 9

• Fold the paper once again into half through the vertical line of symmetry so as to obtain a boat-like shape as shown in picture --- 10

• The middle of the boat should be able to open as shown in picture --- 11

Fold the pointed edges of the boat inwards as shown in pictures --- 12 & 13

Do the same thing for the other edge as shown in picture --- 14

Open the just folded edges to obtain the goal posts and place them on a surface to stand as shown in picture --- 15

Look at how we used the goal posts to play hand football when I was a kid
