Hello, Steemians! Greetings and a happy Sunday to you all. I am excited to have you here today. In this post, I have shared one of the oldest electrical appliances in my home that is used by my family.

In general, a brief description of the object

Phillips dry iron is one of the oldest electrical appliances that we have in my house and is used by everyone at home. Due to how long the iron has been in the house, we used to call it the "Original Philips H21172 Dry Iron." The iron is a friendly dry iron with a very simple, compact design.

In my home, we used it for ironing clothes, and it's very strong and also attracts good current to our house each time the iron is used. We all know how strong the Philip Irons of those days were. In conclusion, the Philips iron helps to speed up our ironing, gliding on all fabric types very smoothly and easily.

How to acquire that antique

It has been long since my dad bought the Philips iron, and as of then, things are not commonly seen around us, but one good thing about those days that I like so much is that our money had more value then as compared to now. Well, it was my dad that bought the Philips iron at the time he was in the Republic of Sierra Leone for peacekeeping.

According to my dad, he bought the iron in 1993 at a rate of 80 naira, which is not even up to 1 steem as of today. Buying this particular Philips iron today would cost you not less than 15,000 Naira (89 STEEM). Although buying the Philips iron today is very easy as compared to back then in 1993, when both buying and selling were difficult, Today you can walk to any electronic shop or even place an order online if you're ready to acquire the Philips iron.

What you should know is that the one you can buy today may not be of the same quality as the ones that were first produced.

As I have earlier said, the Philips iron is meant for family use, and as of then, my dad doesn't joke with the iron; he cherishes it so much even up until this moment.

As of 2014, when I was about to start school, I had already planned to travel with the iron to school since my dad had traveled out. As I traveled with the iron to school, on his arrival, he couldn't find the iron after spending 2 days at home. My mom then told him that I had traveled with the iron to school. To my greatest surprise, my dad started calling and instructed me to either bring or send his Phillips iron back home.

As I brought the iron back, he bought another one for me, and as it stands now, it has spoiled because it's not as strong as the Philips iron. The Philips iron is meant to be used at home, and the reason why my dad doesn't joke with it is that each time he looks at the iron, he remembers his stay in the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The day that I mistakenly spoiled the socket of the iron, I quickly took it to an electrician for repair. Below is a selfie of myself holding my family relic.
