SEC-S10W6: "You also learn from mistakes."
Mistakes are something that can happen to anyone which can make a person learn a lesson quickly. Most people learn their lessons after making mistakes since it helps them understand themselves better by knowing the wrong path in life.
In 2018, I was hired to work as a receptionist in one of the big hotels in my town. I made a very big mistake and left my smartphone behind, which got lost. As a new staff member in the company that has been trained on how the company operates, I was assigned to be on duty at night, which I kindly took over from the lady who was on duty in the morning.
The lady that I took over from did not go home instead she stood by and agree to assist me since it was my first day which I joyfully accept her kind gesture with a smile. While working, it was getting late, and I then noticed that after work I needed to take my bath.
Before going to buy bathroom slippers, soap, and sponges, I asked permission from the lady that I was leaving my phone behind for security reasons since it was very late, which she agreed to. I showed her my phone before leaving, but to my greatest surprise, as I went out and came back, I couldn't see my phone.
As I came back, I searched and searched for my phone. I even called my number several times to see if it would ring out, but it didn't . I reported the case to my boss, who invited the police to handle the case. Till today, the phone is nowhere to be found, and I regret going out without it, thinking that it was in the hands of someone who cares about me.

My advice to people who think that mistakes are failures is:
Mistakes make us strong to face the reality of things.
We learn better after making mistakes, so you don't have to kill yourself thinking over your past mistakes.
Whenever you make a mistake in life, take it as a challenge and move ahead without thinking much.
Take mistakes as a way to know what is good and bad.

Yes, experience is the best teacher, meaning we learn faster by applying our previous experience so we can do better. Here on Steemit, I have experienced a downfall, which I don't take as a downfall but as a way to build myself better than my past.
When a person has experienced a bad thing in his or her life, he or she will like to do everything possible to avoid making such a mistake again based on his or her previous experience. One of the most common mistakes we make is to trust other people, this has generated many unfortunate situations, however, we must not stop believing, we just have to be more careful when choosing who to trust.

I must say that was really hard..
Some person's I know would ask the lady to pay for the phone because you actually put it in her care.
On the second thought it could be she was even the one that took the phone.
But it's in the past now and am glad you have learnt your lessons.
