SEC-S5:W2 - Let's talk about animals.
Hello Steemians, how are you doing? I trust you are doing very well. Today I'm here to discuss my favorite animal(s) as part of the Steem Venezuela Community contest.
Animals are very important to us as they help in safeguarding our compound and providing some finance, especially when they are sold out. In addition to this, there are some animals that are my favorites, which I have talked about in this very post.

Goats, dogs, cows, and hens are among my favorite animals. Although, among these four affomentioned animals, goat is my favorite animal, for the following reasons:
- Goat is an animal that is eatable by all.
- Goat is one of the animals that are very humble.
- Goat is an extra income.
- Goat is a fun, inquisitive animal that has their own personality, which makes me like them. My mother goats like my siblings.
- Goats are similar to dogs in that they know their owner very well.
- I also like goats because they are easier to work with than large livestock and are less expensive to buy and maintain.
Finally, as previously stated, goat can be a valuable source of income for anyone who owns one because it is not only an animal for producing meat and milk, but it is also one of the animals whose meat is highly marketed for higher market profits.
For now, I don't have pets at home, but there are some pets at my parents' house. I was leaving with my parents and I did take good care of my mom's goats. In the year 2000, my mom bought a female goat from her friend to train, and today as I am writing this post, the female goat has produced more than 50 goats, of which I have eaten some and sold some of them, which is the main reason why goats are my favorite animal.
How did the one goat that was bought produce more than 50 goats? Okay, the goat was bought when it was very small and was trained by me, which makes me know more about goats. At first, the goat got pregnant and gave birth to twins (male and female). The female got pregnant and also gave birth, whereas the mother kept on giving birth. In my family, we often take care of our goats, which as it stands right now, it is my siblings that are taking care of my family goat.
Yes, I know of three animals in a street situation in my community. Firstly, the name of my street is NO9 Akpofe Street Abakaliki. In my street there are these three goats that I know very well and which you can see lying down inside the container below.
These three goats are very stubborn and are owned by one elderly woman in my community. These three goats often go about disturbing neighbors, especially those that usually keep their waste beside their houses. These three goats would often go and be catering waste looking for food to eat. You can take a look at how they were moving about in someone's compound below.
image taken by me via OppoA12 Well, currently, where I am staying, I haven't seen nor heard about any foundation that provides care for animals in my community. All I know is that in Abakaliki, everyone that owns an animal is the person responsible for providing care for the animals under his or her disposal. Here I will share a brief story about this goat. The goat you are seeing is a very stubborn goat that I almost killed on one particular day. The goat often comes around the compound where I am staying to eat what is dry outside and not just that it normally disturbs my compound people with noise. There was one thing that I knew for certain: I planned to harm the goat. That made me fall down. There was a day when the goat came around and I began cheesing the goat, and as I was cheesing the goat, I fell down. Everyone was laughing. Since that incident, whenever I see the goat, it will simply stare at me. The possible benefits and risks of having a pet at home are what I have highlighted in a tabular form below.
Animals are very loving, cute, cuddly, and very essential to humans, because they provide us with an additional source of income. I am inviting @simonnwigwe, @preye2 and @yakspeace to also participate. |

@josepha, Good information that you offer us about the goats, I did not know that they recognized their owners.
I see that they are easier to raise since they eat many things and are cheaper to maintain than cattle.
Incredible 50 goats is a large number of animals, without a doubt it is your favorite animal since it is a great help economically.
Some of the goats are very stubborn and violent. I saw one that spends its time fighting and hitting other goats and animals.
Seeing your publication, goats bring you more benefits than setbacks. It is worth raising goats since they give you good economic benefits.
